There has been some questions lately in the katrinashome Folding website team regarding the usefulness of the page.
Updating the page is not a great effort, but an effort non the less. So we would like to hear your oppinions about the page.

In addition to answering the poll, it would be great if you could take the time to answer a few more questions, either here in this thread or in a PM to me or Sir FurryMark.
(We can take negative feedback, so don't be shy Wink

)

The updates consist of three main parts:
1) The milestone table
2) A short comment about new members and general team info
3) The movers list

As it is now, we spend quite little effort on the comment part, and focus mainly on the milestones and movers.
Do you think this is a good thing?
Should we scrap the comments completely, and just go for the stats?
Should we take out the stats and put more effort in the general comments?
What kind of comments would you like to read?
Is the every-day updates good, or would once or twice a week be sufficient? (That would provide more material to comment about in each update)

We are aware that the stats info is easily accessed from other sources (such as the extremeoverclocking stats page), but the general idea is that we thought it might be nice for you to see your name highlighted on a KWSN specific page so that you would know that your production effort is appreciated.

Currently, the official Folding@Home stats page points at katrinashome, and from there you can follow a link to the forum.
Do you think it would be better to point new members directly to the forum instead?
When you joined, were you attraced to the team by the katrinashome page or the forum?
If you got to the katrinashome page first, was it difficult to find the forum? (I.e. was the scrolling knight too subtle)

Any other comments or suggestions you may have about the katrinashome page are most appreciated.

as an object of general slagging off and abuse I'm sure he would not mind, and who cares if he does.

I look every day even if only to see if I've got a mention on the movers table. and have been known to get the hump when a day is missed on which I have a good place jump.

I don't fold, so I'm not going to vote, but a couple things that are off-putting to me:
The Java seems to be completely unnecessary - the purpose it seems to serve would be much better served with regular text.

Too many smilies. There's a metric ass load of them and most of them are animated. They bog down my browser a bit and are distracting.

The marquee tag isn't much fun either.

I watch the site regularly. Maybe the 'look and feel' of the site is a bit outdated. Not all colours are easily read on the grey background. The comments definitely have to stay. It's a feature that makes it stand out compared to all the stats sites.

Because of all the moving parts it's a real loonie site!

Thanks for all the effort the updaters are putting in.

'k, been away for a bit, travelling the world (literally) which explains the earlieness of the hour.

The forum is the attraction for me, so an easier way to get there would be nice. The little knight dood is subtle for sure, perhaps a bit too much so for those that would be a welcome part of the community? Perhaps some links to easy ways to set up folding (for 117, of course) would be good as well since most casual observers may go away if things are difficut. Again, another class of good potential knights lost.

And while I'm not there often, the movers list and the new members acknowledgement is a very nice way to "set the hook" so if possible through automation, it would be great to keep that portion.
