Hi,

Ni!
I'm trying to get a laptop going - probs with the keyboard, but I thought of trying to find a project that I can do extra, as I don't know how it would be to have it on 24/7. I wondered if the eOn project was something to join. Keep you company, Grawlfang, and wave the flag for KWSN. It's a Medion with XP2, intel celeron 1.7 ghz, 225 MB ram. If the WUs are n't too big then it's something to think about.

I threw a few machines at the project.
I split the priority 50% folding / 50% eOn on the following machines:
1 XP 2800+
3 XP 2400+'s
1 XP 2200+
1 XP 2100+
I went from 510th place to 257th in 7 hours.
The realtime stats are "refreshing". _________________ "There ain't no freekin' Indians around here..."

Ni!
Thanks for the info! I nearly threw this laptop out! Downloaded the programme "keyboard test" on free 30 day trial, and found the problem - left shift key permanently on sometimes! Moral of the story - don't buy Medion laptops in the future!
I'll be giving the eon project a try.

Finished my first one, but that analyze popup is distracting. _________________ When in doubt, kick it until it works. |

Welcome sir knights...
crunching away on my bare bones 'pc' running OpenBSD have got me those 23000+ WU's (just an AMD Duron 1.91 (overclocked a little)) in no time at all.
We have a way to go to hit 8th place though...

Popup? I haven't seen any popups.
I chose to install everything but the screensaver and ran the eonguiclient.exe file to get it started then minimize to the systray. Not a peep from it since.
I did notice a problem with the client. (Win2K)
If you want to stop the program for any reason then you must shut down the client GUI and end task on client.exe in processes/task manager to stop it. Failure to do this will result in multiple client.exe's running reducing your priority.

Heh... Entered the top 500 after five minutes.
I'm only giving it 50% of a 3500+.
They need to seriously reconsider their stats before I give it more.
It's all about the stats. _________________

Yeah i know. As for the clientgui, it does minimize, but the client.exe stays on the task bar (which is okay), but the one that keeps popping up in a window is analyze.exe. Can't seem to keep it just to the task bar, because it's always starting and stopping. _________________ When in doubt, kick it until it works. |

I like not those stats ( mainly because I've not got the biggest chunk of the pie (which is cherry I hope) ) bring me another.
