I'm using my fileserver as a shrubber since it mostly sits idle anyway. It's running RH9 Linux. (athlon xp 2000+)

I know this isn't the best way to run FAH, but what I do is in the console, I go to the FAH dir and enter "./FAHxxx-Linux.exe &" so it runs in the background.

Sometimes I get busy and dont check the server for a few days, and when I do, I've noticed that it isn't shrubbing any more, even though the FAH console and an FAHcore show up in the processes list with top. Investigation of the log file shows that the work unit finished ok and then the core shut down....but FAH never tries to send the unit. When I try to manually send the unit(s), a -verbose tells me that I tried to send an unfinished work unit, and of course it wont send it.

I've also noticed that I can't kill the FAHxxCore.exe process, only the FAH console executable. I just end up having to reboot to kill it.

I can show parts of the log file if necessary, but like I said it shows 100% completion of the wu and then says core shutting down.

One more thing I almost forgot, after rebooting and starting FAH, it always completes and sends the first wu. The problem happens with the second wu.

I suppose I could make a script that run FAH -oneunit in a loop?? I doubt that is a good idear.

I am runing FAH 5.02 console client for Linux.

Any idears? This is making me loonier than I should be!! Mad

Sounds like a variant of the glibc problem.

You might want to browse through the stuff on the Stanford Folding Community board for inspiration.
