I haven't had a bit of a problem with this project. I wonder if it has something to do with the size of the WU cache stashed on a local machine. Mine is set to store at least 1 day of work with the option to store up to 2 days more. (Boinc version 7.6.9 x64) I got messages saying "[error] No close tag in scheduler reply" for a day or two, but never ran out of work. So perhaps increasing the WU cache numbers reduces or eliminates the effect of say an 18 hour server-flu outage?

This thread indicates occasional backlog problems.
