Seems the newest Android update is not allowing either NativeBOINC or project applications to run correctly and crashes immediately. It crashes on other projects, so I suspect something in NativeBOINC needs to adjust permissions in it's running of projects.
So, you may want to think before updating your Android. I may have to cave in and install the official BOINC application (which I cannot control remotely). _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)

I had to do a reboot on mine to get it shrubbing again. Hope that works for you too. _________________ Some days are worse than others. |

I've switched over to plain ol' BOINC, not NativeBoinc - I have TWO Quad-Core M8s now! _________________

OK, now it only wants to work if the screen is active. I've had it running since yesterday and the projects only have about 3 hours of shrub time on them. What is this stupid new OS doing? I've played with many settings and cannot get it to go while in the lock screen. _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)

Has the Berkley version of the software gotten any better? I still use BoincView and the last time I tried using the Berkley software I could not control my tablet. This is an important part of my routine on controlling my machines, since I usually let them sit in another part of the house, and I am not going to be climbing stairs several times a day during switchover time. |

I couldn't say - Never used it before - I just loaded BOINC and plugged in a handful of Projects - I just let it do whatever it's gonna do
Maybe my $150/Month would be better off buying an i7 and a couple GPUs? _________________

After each issue, I adjust settings then set them back to normal and now everything is running fine again. I just guess I need to let things settle.
Drives me nuts. I've never had this much problem. Wonder why this new OS is doing to give me fits? _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)

There's too many places for settings, local, BAM, at your account on the project's server. _________________

I use global preferences for almost everything. The device was just running odd. Of course with no updates to NativeBoinc in a while and the Berkley version out there, I bet many are opting to use the Berkeley one.
I might try it again, but I will review the release logs first to see if I will be happy with my ability to control it remotely. |
