Prime Grid needs no introduction, just shrub it! Between folks chasing stars for WU Prop and the Leonids Challenge Nov. 14 - 19, this should be a good month to crunch some primes!

Starting stats:
10th Place
4,019,620,944 Total points
3,756,038 average daily production over past week
3,476,661 RAC, 10th place
15th Place Formula Boinc

Am working toward my Ruby in SR5 and will be doing the challenge later this month.

Leonids Challenge
Nov 14 18:00 to Nov 19 18:00 (UTC)
321 LLR
Recent average CPU time: 31:59:36
This project has a 10% long job credit bonus.

LLR is CPU intensive and works best on some processors with no hyperthreading. The LLR does take advantage of the Intel AVX extension with about 1/2 the speed of one without.

Once I reach a milestone in SGS I'm going for whatever has a high probability for a prime. Pooh, what is your opinion on prime-gettin'? Huge prime would be fun, but any notable prime is very satisfying.

Currently PPSE is the smallest numbers, so crunch the fastest and would have the easiest prime find. SGS is second, then PPS regular would be 3rd. PPSE is also a good one to set yourself up with right before a challenge. With the short units you can stop new tasks about 30 minutes before the challenge, switch all your preferences over to the challenge project and then exactly at 18:00UTC allow new tasks and be right in the thick of the competition.

Last time I ran PPSE I found like 4 primes in just a few days running on 28 cores, YMMV. As with any of the primes they seem to cluster a little.

Congrats on 1.1 million Plomos!

I picked up 4 WU Prop badges this month, expecting a few more. Obviously I'm behind in this project...

Leonids Challenge starts tomorrow 1:00 p.m. EST (if I figgered out the UTC time correctly). Is the plan to start crunching a bunch of 321 LLR's overnight, suspend just prior to completion, then start reporting tomorrow afternoon?

'Stones:
CGKIII 9,000,000
Yankton 6,000,000

Thanks LanDroid.

Reading the thread for the challenge over at PG it says like always that only units pulled after the start time will count towards the challenge. So doing it tonight won't help from what i can see

So that's what I have planned... but my android / native boinc devices will go to the POGS team challenge effort.
