I'm worried about the GPU ??? I've been shrubbin' SETI since last night and only got 1 AstroPulse GPU WU. The server page has 0 files for AP and the ap parser is down... I see no info anywhere about it except a few threads from the past that say stuff like, "if we don't need the work it won't appear as a GPU", and such as that. I would like to bunker up some but am not sure how long to wait until I block the IP. .. .. .. can't get any GPU work and can only get about 40 CPU WU's, (even though I have the "get work" limit set to 10 days) I'm going to try to just start shrubbing a bunch to get the BOINC info up on my averages, then hopefully I can get a chance to bunker something. Seems pretty pointless to do that if it's only a couple days worth of CPU and NO GPU at all. Since I'm new at this, any pointers would be helpful & appreciated.
I'm using BOINC client 7.0.64
Win7 on an AMD Phenom II cpu
using an AMD-ATI 4870 GPU open-cl , double precision
Thanks. _________________

My system pulls both GPU and CPU work. Its pulling SETI@home 7.03 setiathome_v7 (opencl_ati_sah) for the 6870 I have for GPU work. Tends to pull 3 or 4 at a time but that is just at default settings. Maybe a more practiced Alien searcher can help more _________________

Thanks for the imput. I guess that my old ATI card won't run the 7.03 ,, because all I can get is Seti@home_v7 7.00 for the CPU
AstroPulse v6 v6.06 (opencl_ati_100) is the only file they send me for my ancient video card... and there is none to be sent out.
My guess: it's too outdated to bother writing WU's for.
Oh well... I'll just shrub on the best I can for the month. |

Finally got my PowerEdge back on SETI - I am still finishing off three WUs for SAT, but all SETI after them... Fingers-Crossed, PHolks! _________________

Try downloading the Lunatic's optimized apps. I believe they may have done some work to make older cards work on V7. It can be found here . The Lunatic's software is also optimized for newer processors and will use the AVX on those systems that have it. The optimizations are not as much as they once were, but they still cut some time off the processing, which gives a little better credit, etc.
Astropulse is currently on hold until they get enough V7 work shrubbed, then they will turn WU creation back on. There is no time table when this will happen. _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)

No problem for my AMD 7750, receiving SETI@home v7 v7.03 (opencl_ati5_cat132) and SETI@home v7 v7.03 (opencl_ati_cat132)

Can't bunker much with a 100 task/host limit unless you're into VM's. _________________

Yes we do !! At least one person from the KWSN team is on one of the 12 Groups. Does that matter?? That "Space-Race" has me a bit confuzed

"catch the little green men" ??? ... I thought we were just looking for a signal.
35 KWSN participants and counting.
