You do have to change teams ON THESE PROJECTS for a few days - It ends in about 3 hrs tho - Of course, when they are over, switch Simap and Asteroids and whatever else you may be helping with back to KWSN as soon as it is over - Only WUs completed by 7PM (Central) will count for SETI.USA - I will complete all I have downloaded, as they ALL count for ME! TTYL!

I'm trying to clear my 'roids, server's down for maintenance. I got a PM from Dr. Pop

DrPop wrote:
Hi, just wanted to say thank you to you and your Knights! Smile What a great pentathlon!

Just let me, Al McAdams, and Fire$torm know when you have that project selected for a good RAID, and we'd love to put the word out to the crew here and hit something hard with you for paying back your kindness. Wink
Sincerely,
Jed

Any thoughts on what we could invite them to? Not much scheduled as far as team challenges at BOINCstats. Maybe we could initiate one, haven't seen KWSN issue a challenge in quite a while. One idea to start the ball rolling, how about a 3-5 day challenge at Subsetsum? I know they're down right now but we'll want time to decide and set up and let other teams see it and prepare.

Remember da Kowz laid down some smack on us in Cosmology?
Now that we are near June, maybe we need to see what we can do
to try and eliminate some of that space between us they created...
I like Cosmo anyway! #ni-1

That's 76 million points!!! Shocked
It'd take 6 months to make a dent in that.

How about a skynet challenge if their server's up to it?

I propose the 5-day Towel Day challenge from May 25-May 31.
Wikipedia wrote:
Towel Day is celebrated every year on 25 May as a tribute to the author Douglas Adams by his fans.[1] On this day, fans carry a towel with them to demonstrate their appreciation for the books and the author, as referred to in Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The commemoration was first held in 2001, two weeks after Adams' death on 11 May 2001.[2]
Douglas Adams may not have been an official Knight, but he would have been a good one. And the Skynet would be a fitting project for any Hitchhiker. #ni-1

Lovely idea but 4 days isn't enough time to set up and announce a challenge. It would also look like we were shrubbing bunkers even before the it was made public. Bring it up next Feb./March. Otherwise, I'd like like a 5 day POG challenge.

I now it was a short notice, wish my brain would have worked faster. Nothing fun comes up for June except maybe Juneteenth and Father's day.
June 22 is the start of the Cancer zodiac. Lots of projects with a cancer motif.

Upon further review: June, 2013 Bizarre and Unique Holidays
-15 National Hollerin Day may be interesting!

Just to let you all know I would love to take part in this, but. I will be leaving for Italy on Sunday the 26 and will not return home till somewhere around the 5th of July. I'm not sure if I will leave my boxes running or not, and probably will not try to take the time to reset them from there. Have a good run at what ever. Very Happy

No more suggestions? Should we open a thread in the Boinc section? Who needs to issue a challenge? Mifun is founder at POGS, do you have a BAM account and if so, do you see the challenges section? Maybe Killerrabbit knows.

Quote:
How does a team join a team challenge?

The founder of a team can enter a team into a challenge.

The team founder (here on BOINCstats) is the person who is founder of the team in most projects. To check who is the team founder, find your team on the profile pages and go to the profile. The founder is listed on the team profile page.

The team founder has a extra section in his BAM! menu (Team founder) and in that section he will find the Challenges. Once there everything is self explanatory.

The team founder is assigned by an automated process, he can't be set manually! If your team has a separate admin account then create a BAM! account for this admin as you would for a normal user (so same email and password). Include all projects but do not attach hosts to it or use any of the managing functions other than the team functions. It will not link to any stats, only to the team it is a member of and it will show as founder, so your team can participate in challenges.

Gathering/updating user information including founder status is done once a week during the night from Saturday to Sunday! Once a week because it's stressing the project servers.

Boincstats team challenges may need to be initiated by our boincstats team founder...Wabbit

Anybody seen the Wabbit lately?

As far as what to shrub, we may want to select next month's PotM, then issue a boincstats challenge for a portion of June.

I just spotted Embrace Your Geekness Day, July 13th. Wouldn't that be perfect day to kick off a challenge?
http://holidayinsights.com/moreholidays/July/geeknessday.htm

It's copyrighted, so we'd need permission to use it though.

I didn't see any conflicting challenges if we went from the 13th to the 18th. Does anyone else?

This would also Shiva to return and recover from visiting all his old girlfriends in Italy and participate.

Opinions?
