Gemjunkie and Sir Stooper found this new project RiojaScience@Home. It is affiliated with the University of La Rioja in Northern Spain and claims to have something to do with "Triatomic quasiclassical trajectory calculation".

KWSN is in 21st place with 9502 points and only one Kanigit shrubbing so far. Our team founder is Viciado em Pedras Preciosas from Portugal. I hope someone knows who that is and can translate the name - I figger it's either DaWabbit screwing around again or Sir Duke of Buckingham [TeaM].
188K WU's ready to send, I just snagged one...

"Viciado em Pedras Preciosas" - I was thrown by this one too. Turns out it's actually Sir Gemjunkie in Portuguese (or a close translation).
WUs have no check-pointing and originally were only 1 minute long. Length has been increased lately.
Still don't completely know what the science is all about, but heck, it's a new project _________________

Guilty. I made an account to maintain foundership so I could move around. (Use your Google Translate http://translate.google.com/#auto)
1st batch of WUs were ~1min./.35pts
2nd batch ~2.75hrs/40-50pts.
No progress bar, but I think it has checkpointing. If I suspend/resume a WU the elapsed time continues from where it stopped. _________________

HAHAAAA! Excellent job on the founder name Gem!

OK, but I think the test for checkpointing involves shutting down Boinc or even rebooting the system and see if it re-starts the WU from the beginning or resumes where it left off...
I know...I know.... why on Earth would anyone EVER shut down Boinc??? But once in a while there's a security patch that requires a reboot, etc. |

Shut down BOINC? I though it was a virus! It's harder to remove than AOL...

You're right, restarting Boinc sends the elapsed time back to 0. _________________

Just need to highlight a task in Boinc Manager and click on properties. One entry will be 'CPU time at last checkpoint ---'.
If there is checkpointing, a time will be listed. On the other hand, projects will stay in memory when suspended (as long as that option is checked in Tools > Computing Pref > Disk and Memory Settings). Shutting down wipes out all memory and reverts tasks back to last checkpoint or the beginning of the task. _________________

We have moved up 4 places already and 4 Knights are now re-arranging the shrubbery on this project.

KWSN has moved up 3 more places to 14th... Most teams above us have higher RAC's, so not sure if we'll get much higher. 'Er wait, that didn't come out right?

Not even to something even more sophisticated like Monsieur Rabeet Le Killeur? Pronounced with an outrageous accent, that might be a hit with the ladies!
Project is still down:

Rioja seems to be clinking along more smoothly at the moment - all servers running and 122K WU's ready to send. I've almost doubled my meager total points in the last two days.
KWSN is up to 13th place with a walloping 117K points. |

That is a lot for a project that I really do not understand.

As much as I worship Rioja Red Wines I hate their unwillingness to communicate with the World in other languages than in Spanish
Will stay with their wines
