KWSN is in 17th place with zero points!
This means there will be three Boinc projects related to Malaria. Might make an interesting PotM to shrub all three... |

Except then each one might end up only attaching to 1, yet a different one, unless we broke it up sort of like the Pentathalon is, with date ranges for each _________________

Yeah, but each signing up to a different one, and then taunting each other on one of the 3 the other didn't attach to/run might just be looney enough for us to try _________________

I had to reattach all my shrubbers that ran this project last time, too. I guess they changed keys from the test phase now that they're officially active. _________________

Yeah:
Quote: | Update
Hi everyone,
We have a few updates:
1. We have regenerated our signing keys but due to a technical problem they will not be distributed automatically. Please detach and reattach to the project in order to receive new workunits. We apologise for the inconvenience and will ensure that it does not happen again. |
Works fine now. _________________

All these people with their talk of "cross platform parity" calling for every project to give less, I have yet to see them talk about giving more, so that they all meet somewhere in the middle rather then at the bottom... Bleh
For me, it's a balancing act, I know for instance that some of the math projects pay the best, but at the same time I don't want to just do math projects all the time. The way I see it (and with 8 cores to go), a few good paying projects gives one margin to run some other stuff, so it all balances out, without killing one's RAC
And the result can be, like how they kept pressuring Milkyway to nerf their credits, now they pay about the worst of any GPU project out there. At 150 some credits per WU and 35 min run time, that's like then 300 per hour, Einstein pays 500 per WU which is about 56 mins, so better, but not quite double, GPU grid pays 16,000 for 8 hours or aprox 2,000 per hour. And not withstanding in any of this, resources other then CPU (like extra RAM or hard drive space, so it limits how many of a given task one can use without loading up one's machine in other resources), or that in comparing it all to SETI, that after opti apps is added, the end result can be Windows users with an AMD CPU getting lower credits then they would get on SETI.
In some ways, I wish they'd give it a rest, or at least make a more balanced argument then trying to drive credits down, while never putting pressure on the low payers to raise it a little to be in par with those who had been more around the middle _________________
