Hey guys, i keep getting crashes every time I try to start crunching. I haven't been able to worry about it lately since I just graduated and have been looking for a job, but I'm ready to start building some points again for science.
I am not quite sure if it is because of my settings or what, but here are the basics of whats going on to see if anyone has some suggestions.
It mainly seems to be happening when I have WU's running on high priority.
I had "leave in memory while suspended" turned on, but have turned it off to see if that helps.
I did have # of processors and cpu time set to 90%, but have turned it down to 60% to test for stability. (should I have the # of processors still set to 100% to use all my cores, but cpu time lower to not use them all full blast?)
PC specs: i7 2600k, asus p8p67 deluxe mobo, 2x ATI HD5870's, 16GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance ram, In Win Dragonrider case (useless info, just braggin on the awesome case )
Also, just updated to latest bios and VC drivers today. Crashed like "normal" again until I lowered my settings.
I really would like to let my settings be as high as possible since I have a fairly powerful pc, and I only use that power for about 3 hours a day gaming. I really want to be doing as much crunching as possible the rest of the day while I am sitting around watching youtube and reading weird news articles.
Any one have any ideas as to what could be my problem, and/or how I can get things running smoother? _________________

A: It's most likely heat, try blowing out your machine...
What is the crash, Specifically. Is it a BSOD and if so what does it say? _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

I don't think it's overheating, because it will do it instantly when I open boinc, and yea its a BSOD. I didnt write down the exact numbers it shows, but it's the usual fatal exception at 0x0000xxxxxxx type errors.
If and when it happens again I will write the numbers down. _________________

Irq less than or equal to is usually driver related. you don't need the numbers but the words can give you a hint....
Next time get as much info as you can. Change the comp to don't restart and then google the entire message. Bsod's can take a lot of time to research and repair. but sometimes it is easy. What is your OS? Have you stress tested it with another benchmark program other than Boinc, Ie: Prime 95, 3dMark etc? Run CPUZ and see if anything stands out. _________________ a.k.a. I'm running windows 7 64bit, I ran a few different stress tests when I first built the machine to test my OC, I will have to do some new ones to make sure nothing has changed with the new drivers and all.
*Just got another BSOD, it had been running smooth until Milkyway decided to run a few in high priority. It made it through a few WUs, but after about 15 minutes of high priority ones it crashed.
The message on the BSOD was "A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval."
