I have just switched from running prpnet stuff to running PPS for this so that i'll be all set when the challenge starts. Knighty I just looked at the project settings at PG and for PPS LLR I did not even see a checkbox for GPU so it appears this might be a CPU only subproject

To attach to the project select the PPS LLR under preferences. You will see Focus project highlighted.

GPUs only do sieving, at least for now.

Hurricane Irene will arrive here around the time the challenge starts, so there's a fair chance the electricity will go off. #Mad

Just run a test and the temperature soared from 54C to 66C within about 2 mins. Far to close to the top temp of 71C for comfort especially if the weather gets hotter again. The temp is up and down all the time and has reached as high as 62C on hot days in any case. Not going to be able to take part in this one sadly.

Will be away over the next 2 days so not prepared to leave the machine on and risk burning out the CPU on this project.

Check your heatsink & case ventilation, it shouldn't be running that hot. Is that a stock or aftermarket cooler?

I hate when they use these short WU LLRs for Challenges. The server is swamped, I have idle shrubbers with WUs that I can't upload and once they upload, I can't report. #Mad
