I like the idea of Primaboinca. My big rig could smack it around pretty good

We all know the superior project is TaTas@home.

Somehow I can envision yet another tie-breaker vote between two projects...

Sudoku@taiwan looks like a bad candidate for a PotM, due to technical issues on the project. From their front page:

http://sudoku.nctu.edu.tw/joomla/

Quote:
Dear all volunteers, our sudoku@vtaiwan system crashed around Jan 3rd, 2011. We would like to apologize to you all for the crash.

We have recovered our system. However, we still lost the login record of volunteers, including account/password, though we backup the credits of all volunteers. Since we cannot but reset the volunteer credit system, we need your help to restore your credits as follows.

Losing login, and requiring the users to report back regularly? to stil get credit doesn't exactly make the best candidate. Sounds like (due to the system crash), they're about an alpha state project atm.

Some of the candidates on the list, also don't appear to be BOINC projects? Like majestic12?

We covered that last election. Probably should take Sudoku off the ballot for 6 months and look at it again.

POTM isn't always BOINC, we had RC5-72 last Oct.

It'd be nice to give Folding a nudge, too. Rolling Eyes

That's the thing. Once, a long, long time ago I messed around with folding and BOINC, and got them to run together, yes it is possible. However, I stopped running them together a long, long time ago as well. Lets just say I have a lazy side, and lost interest after from all accounts a BOINC client for folding looked less likely to ever come out. I haven't run it since.

There are those of us who just really aren't interested in setting them both up to run on our computer.... Yeah, there was a time, back when we did SETI in the old, old days for instance where stand alone clients is all there were; but now they just require more effort to get them to play nicely with other projects, all running at the same time.

Just saying, a little bit of balance, personal preferences vs. team goals.

Well, if the credit return on primaboinca remains the same for next month; why not. Could also help reduce the number of days required to return to the 9th top team again, and hold off any attempts by number 11 to pass us #ni-1
