No PotM this month - time to apply full power to your neglected favorite projects. So what are YOU crunching?

I started the WCG Christmas Race, since the team's not really participating I'll use it as practice and to compare my shrubbers' performance. I may drop out. I don't think much of their checkpointing. I had 4 WU's at just under 2 hrs, I suspended them and shut down for a couple of hours, they resumed at 10 min.elapsed time. Over 6 core-hrs lost!!

I'm running a couple of PSP LLR WU's to test the stability of the overclocked PhenomII x6, 17:40 elapsed, just completed 32%.

The GPU's will still do Milkyway and Collatz while I try to get PrimeGrid running. The GT240 finished 7 WU's, ~50min ea., but mostly gets the dreaded 'computational error', usually at just over 10 min, so I put it back on Folding.

What drivers are you using? I'm using 258.96 and haven't had any problems with my GTX260s...

I have my Phenom II x4 965 BE overclocked to 3.8 ghz and so far pps llrs and pps sieves have not errored out yet. If you underclock the last two cores on an amd x6, you should see a boost in the front four.

For the video card not sure why its erroring out. Do you have the lastest 260.99 drivers? I have a gtx470 that has finished over 600 wus with no errors.

I'm using 260.89, I downloaded the later 260.99, 262.99 & 263.09 drivers but haven't gotten around to installing any of them. Embarassed Every 2 weeks there's a new driver. Confused

A bit beyond my level of expertise, this is my first foray into OC'ing. I let the software that came with the MB handle it, bumper from 3.2 to 3.72GHz. It took it to 3.83GHz, ran stability tests and tuned it back down to 3.72. Can't complain, CPU temps ~37-40C. Stability's more important than another 2-3% speed, imo.

Hey Idan, WCG is annoying me, want to race Aqua when I finish my queue? One on one, your i5-661 vs my Q9550? That's only a dual-core, but it won in PrimeGrid. And you have a 118,000pt. lead, and I'll finish the queue, 4 in progress and 12 more waiting.

Yours: ID: 63326 339,687pts.
Mine: ID: 73896 Amethyst 221,766pts.

For the Primegrid and the CUDA, do you have Microsoft NET 3.5? It is needed.

You can use Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 as well.

All that is gonna stop next year. The U.N. International Commission on Electioneering and Racketeering* will be overseeing our elections. By the time they get done with us it will be just like the good old days! (Everyone will crunch SETI 365 days a year.)

I don't mind a friend competition...
I have another shrubber Q8200 which did a bit better than my i5-661 at the Prime challenge and was just as strong as the i5 when it came to Spinhenge...

If there's something this i5 is good for, it's for Aqua's multi thread client...
I'm running it on Win7 64 bit just FYI... #ni-1

The Q8200 and the other even slower computer are running WCG at the moment #ni-2

The XP box has dots. 2.0, 3.0, 3.5.

I think Win7 comes with .NET built-in, but I don't recall where I read that. The cuda version was running on Win7/GT240 and I haven't installed .NET myself. It's not listed in the add/remove programs list as it is in XP.

Where do you get the app_info file and where do you place it?

Open CL is installed with the ATI Catalyst package, right? I'd mostly like to get the ATI version running.

I'll switch the Q9550 to Aqua as soon as I finish these last 8 terrible WCG WU's. Crying or Very sad I'll be using Ubuntu 10.04 x64, seems fast.

If anyone else wants to enter a shrubber, post your starting points here. Just an informal fun race, we can look at points, RAC, maybe # of WU's.

I guess points will be the best as the WU are not the same size all the time... #ni-1

I'll have one shrubber on Aqua for now while I try to reach a personal milestone. I will claim my starting stats at 100K (give or take a few) and there is absolutely NO reason for anybody to go and look at my Aqua account to actually see and verify my actual starting points! On with the race! #ni-2

In other news, I'll keep on shrubber on WCG for awhile and then bounce between other projects around the interweb just for fun. P.S. - I'll see you guys at the PG Challenge.
