One of the hardest challenges have started. A LLR project that the units take about 80-150 hours to complete. It's a 13 day challenge that started about 14 hours ago.
Those of you with strong crunchers, can we make a good showing on this one? _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)

Half of my shrubbers are on it, will move the rest across on Monday when I can access them. This one's going to be tough, glad it isn't too warm here yet! _________________ Shrubbing inconsistently since 1999

I'm on it... got a second computer to plug in tomorrow... good luck.
Edit: For some odd reason I can't seem to get the 64bit application on my Win7 (64 bit), is there something I should do manually as it should have downloaded the 64 bit application by itself...
Edit2: Quote: | Application builds are available for Linux 32 bit, Windows 32 bit and MacIntel. These applications will be sent to 64 bit clients. As with all LLR application projects, there is no advantage of 64 bit over 32 bit. |
This is annoying... it means each application takes about 25% of my full potential computing power and I should run 4 of this tasks simultaneously...
blah, lets crunch this! _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

I'm playing too. Probably will only keep the quad on it, the old dual just can't cut it. _________________

They actually don't have 64 bit llr apps as the performance gain is negligible. Wouldn't worry about it.
Wish I was paying attention, I'd have to clear out several days worth of cache to join this. Gotta arrange more advance warning next time. _________________ Some days are worse than others. |

Could you give the clueless noobs some advance warning next time? I have 438 Sztaki & 299 Collatz WU's in queue.
Is this just a CPU project? If GPU, is it cuda or ATI? _________________

CPU, your Collatz crunching won't interfere with it, but your Sztaki ones will, and it needs a LOT of time to crunch _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

So you recommend abandoning the POTM? _________________

I recommend you to buy me 5 more shrubberies, but since I can't recommend that, I can't recommend you to do anything...
You can choose, I'd say abandoning the POTM in order to participate an international challenge is worthy if you have the shrubberies who can handle those massive WU, the shrubberies that cannot handle this WU can stay with easy-going Sztaki... _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

"PrimeGrid Task psp_llr_59874902_2 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project."
Still getting this message after resetting Prime Grid. I may have to sit this one out... |

Running 10 cores, one dropped out- 'computational error'. 'Server re-sent lost task'
The loonie manager downloaded 12 WU's on the dual-core. I doubt it can finish them all on time.

I had 2 more computational errors, same machine so I'm running Sztaki on 2 of the 4 cores. _________________

Not playing with this one. Getting too many errors for those long WUs plus it just got hot here as well.
