My favorite project when it started, but now I can't reach it. After a few weeks, and seeing that other people are still getting credit, I'm starting to believe the project (and website) aren't down. Whenever I try to reach the website lhcathome.cern.ch, I get an error saying it's unavailable. After reading another post here regarding AT&T, I'm starting to wonder if this is Comcast's fault. (I'm only with Comca$t b/c I moved out of AT&T's service area a couple years ago and VZ only offers the crap version of DSL here)
Anyway, I'm wondering if Comcast (or someone) just can't find it or what. Any help?

If it helps =>
ping lhcathome.cern.ch

http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/

Are you using the full url? They may not have a redirect if you don't have the complete one in the request.

noworky

I pinged it from my network at work (at slight peril to myself for non-work related internet use) and it's fine.

I talked to Comcast chat-support. LeoAnn's first suggestion was "I advise you to please log it out and then Delete Files and Delete Cookies. After that, please click refresh at least 5x before accessing the said website again."
--sigh. Next came the suggestion to call the website owners. Finally, came a couple minute wait at the end of that LeoAnn claimed he could access the website and sent me a form (to unblock the ip) to fill out. I did so, skeptically since he also told me "You can also contact LHC through these site: http://www.lhc-rc.com/cgi-bin/mf000001.pl?ACTION=SHOWFORM"
--sigh. Turns out, the form is for unblocking an IP address when you're having trouble sending/receiving mail to someone.

I've since sent Comcast an email attempting to detail the problem.
