Do not forget about or Majestic-12 team. Which is in the top ten as DIMES is not working for me right now.

I installed jre 1.6 and DIMES Agent version 0.5.5 on Win7-64 but it won't run. It says "javaw.exe is not accessible on your computer".
Troubleshooter suggested WinXPsp2 compatibility mode. Then it seems to open with the Dimes Agent error message "Error in reading parameters file".
Then I told Windows to save the settings for the program it says it's an incompatible application. _________________

I've installed it and it looks perfectly normals
I didn't install it as a service though, try using it not as a service if you picked service as your first option. _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

No, I didn't install as a service. When I open it, I get:
Windows troubleshooter suggests WinXP sp2 mode:
Then when I open dimes I get:
Troubleshooter report says it's incompatible.
I think Java is up to date
JRE is enabled
Any suggestions appreciated.

Have you tried to install it as an Administrator perhaps? _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

Installed as Admin, and even right clicked and 'Run as Admin'.
Maybe I need to sacrifice an Admin goat?
Thanks.

Have you tried running an older version of Java?
There's been a point release since the version you're running as well, build 1.6.0_21-b07 could be worth trying _________________ Shrubbing inconsistently since 1999

Many thanks! I found the problem. This shrubber is running Win7-64 so I installed 64-bit Java, but I see both 32 & 64 bit IE are present. I installed 32-bit Java and now Dimes is apparently running smoothly. So simple, if the Dimes installation requirements were just a little more explicit.

It was pretty easy java was up to date already. Installed on two windows 7 x64 machines. Just had to mess with the firewalls. One question though. Is it normal for one machine to out produce another on the same network? My netbook is acting as an ICS for my desktop. The netbook is doing around 2.5:1 in measurements compared to the desktop with out really showing any dots at all. _________________

I don't know. It'd be nice if the Java console told you which version of Java was installed. I didn't have to adjust my firewall (Sunbelt). Are these quivering bubbles on a string supposed to be useful to anyone? What a loonie project.
