Quote:
D-Wave's AQUA (Adiabatic QUantum Algorithms) is a research project whose goal is to predict the performance of superconducting adiabatic quantum computers on a variety of hard problems arising in fields ranging from materials science to machine learning. AQUA@home uses Internet-connected computers to help design and analyze quantum computing algorithms, using Quantum Monte Carlo techniques.

There is work now? 634 WU's available:
http://aqua.dwavesys.com/server_status.php

Evidently the admin has to manually load WU's to send out and sometimes forgets:
http://aqua.dwavesys.com/forum_thread.php?id=602
http://aqua.dwavesys.com/forum_thread.php?id=576
Rolling Eyes

Looks like current WU's will take about 30 hrs on my system.

On edit:
Already down to 300 work units several hours later, with 8K in process. That's less than 5% of what's being crunched??? Hmmm....

Well, work is back up to acceptable levels now. At least this admin is alive and kicking. He does get pretty involved with the project and makes corrections when needed. You gotta like that. There seems to be too many projects out there that are on auto pilot and nobody at the helm.

And same here... about 30 hrs/wu But I got 15k for one wu. Seems pretty good to me.

Yes, but Aqua absolutely swoons for Aqua Velva !

The project is down to 128 WU's - we'll see if the admin increases this on the holiday.... Points are good, but I'm already starting to wonder 'bout this project...

KWSN just moved up a spot - 30th place...

What's with the WTG link Phred, are you a world traveller?

Yep, Aqua is out of work... The admin is in Canada, so it's not a holiday. Ah looks like he's gonna upload some work this morning:

Say, this Aqua project isn't going to produce a super quantum computer that takes over the world some day and sends terminators back to kill us all, is it? #2gunfire

If so, it hardly seems worth the points. Confused

Aqua seems not to like me, can't get any work units, even when they are up for downloading.

I think if that were the case it would have already happened and we wouldn't be having this conversation unless it were in binary. Notice the irony here...

No, it can't kill us before we finish the calculations needed to build a quantum computer. That would be stupid. That it hasn't happened yet only proves just how smart the super quantum computer is.

Unless it did already go back in time, kill us, then realized it made a mistake and went back in time again to kill itself before it had a chance to kill us! #ni-1

Never happen, it would only have to go back to a second before the killing units were sent and change the orders. I fear super quantum computer has outsmarted us again.

Mid-month status:
25th Place + 6
37,461,195 points + 9,291,477
538,318 RAC, 9th place
364,093 crunched yesterday

Wow, KWSN is kickin it! (Obviously I grossly underestimated the stomp factor on this one...)
