PrimeGrid Summer Solstice Challenge 16 Jun 11:28 UTC – 21 Jun 11:28 UTC
Are we getting ready for this? It starts in about 41 hours.
TRP Sieve - It is conjectured that 509203 is the smallest Riesel number. The Riesel problem consists in determining that 509203 is the smallest Riesel number. To show that it is the smallest, a prime of the form k*2^n-1 must be found for each of the positive integer k's less than 509203. As of July 2008, there remains 64 k's for which no primes have been found.
Of course this is the Sieve which does a fast factor review before it passes on potential candidates to the LLR process.
Sieves have a 64-bit application and do run faster in that. This could be a good challenge for us. Let's see if we can move up a little. _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)
My lucky numbers are 121*2^4553899-1 and 3756801695685*2^666669±1

We are getting eaten here. Where is our people? I see several not participating that have helped out in the past. Is it just because it's summer? Or are people just not wanting to do this? |

Same here, had one box that I needed to set before the challenge (so it needed to go through the pre-challenge wus) and another That I couldn't get to until well after the challenge started. I'm going now, though. _________________

My main machine is running it with all its four cores. The laptops would take eons to finish primegrid wus. _________________

I have about 50 messages like this. Not good. May have to bail out of this one..... |

No, if I check Boinc messages after not using the computer for several hours, I find it has suspended for about 10 seconds every few minutes because CPU usage is too high. I first thought this was the PG WU's, but Docking does this too, so now I'm back to crunching for the PG challenge. I set max processor usage to 95% and revised "processing allowed while processor usage is less than" setting to increase from 10% to 20%. Guess I'll play with those settings for a while then maybe go back to the old Boinc version or just live with it... |

But there's an interesting little battle going on in mid-field:

Phew, my last one finished with 2 minutes to go.
... and it seems I won the battle of the (midriff?) bulge by just 5 WUs, with PB & Tiberius level. But we were outside the top 100, so no points. _________________ Creationists believe they never evolved; I agree with them.

Team made a solid 15th place.
There were 3 of us running neck in neck. Two of us tied but I think because Sir Tiberius either had a larger RAC or dropped the last units before me, he got the higher spot.

a total of 12 Knights participate. We could have done just a little better if we had a little more help.
