Just a thought.
When I joined KWSN a few months ago (Sept-2009), we were ranked #86...but we're slipping (currently #92 at the time of this post). I assume this is not a cause-and-effect thing!
I hope for the sake of our traditional "prestige" (as such), we can stay in the top 100!

Can some other Knights swing some of their shrubbers back to F@H to get us some much needed points?

This would prevent us from slipping into the ignominious "no-longer-in-the-top-100-teams" abyss.
I am currently the top 'heavy-lifter' for KWSN at F@H (as far as points/day), but I know some others have seriously more powerful shrubbers than I do.
Please help! It would be GREATLY appreciated, even if just for a few days or weeks!

I'll trow a core on it for a little while. My problem is that I'm getting addicted to boinc and these darn POTMs keep sucking me in. I try to do some F@H wus every once in awhile, but after a few I get some that error out or won't upload or whatever and I find myself looking back to other projects.

But, I'll give it a shot for a little while anyway. #ni-2

Sorry, but I don't have any good GPU-card, and running FaH on CPU is just a big waste of time.

I do agree that it would be pretty embarrassing for the team to slip out of the top 100 though.

If I ever upgrade to a decent gaming card I might throw it in there.

  • I agree that CPU folding doesn't give much of a "worthwhile" points-per-day value, but some projects cannot run on a GPU.
  • Thanks for the acknowledgment of the potential embarrassment of falling out of the top 100.
  • Here's a thought (about decent card) - Wait for Nvidia to launch their Fermi cards (GF100 series)
...and watch for ATI to significantly drop their prices on almost every high-end card they have
...might be able to pick-up a 5870 (or maybe even a 5970) for almost 1/2 of their current price.

I've noticed that you already have over 4.5 million points on F@H - WOW!!!.
I hope you reach your goal/milestone at Seti, and can throw some considerable shrubberization towards F@H for a while.
