Yay! Genetic Life! Now, let's all remember to attach to our team. We don't want anybody shrubbing solo (unless they really want to).

*cough cough* Sir Idan - Yoyo and Enigma *cough cough*

And we're off to the races.

And there's lots of lovely work waiting to be shrubbed.

You know, I was looking at the Team Recruitment Thread at Gen Life and I noticed we don't have an entry. Since this is our POTM, maybe somebody could whip one up.

And no, don't ask me. I'm still way too new to come up with anything looney or witty enough for others to see.

But it may just increase the power of the looney magnet!

A strong start - so far we've crunched over 333K points, more than 69K of 'em yesterday. In fact KWSN was # 1 yesterday and we're on track to "win" again today!

It's gonna be another 3 or 4 days before we pass any teams, we're still 218K below AMD Users...

Milestones last two days:
KWSN passed 1,700,000
KWSN imcrazynow passes 60,000
John Galt 007 passes 40,000
KWSN Grizzly passes 30,000
KWSN - JerWA passes 25,000
LanDroid passed 20,000
stooper101 passed 10,000
Sir Tux of Flanders passed 4,000

My new AMD X2 550 appears to be running juuuuust shy of my laptops performance (Core 2 P9600) with my first overclock attempt at 3.6 GHz (up from 3.1 stock). Since it went to 3.6 so easy I bumped it to 3.8 GHz, and it promptly fell on its head. So, I've bumped Vcore 1 tick, and it appears stable at 3.8 now... we'll see if it's still alive in a few hours. But, that should bump its performance to just OVER my laptops, which isn't too shabby for a system that cost about $400 complete (compared to a work-provided laptop worth like $2k). And lets not forget WAY better than the X2 3800+ it replaced hehe.

Nowhere near my quads of course, even compared core to core, where my Q9300 dominates (wish I could o/c the i7 920 but it's a work computer with BIOS that won't even let you o/c). Here's the rough guestimates based on GenLife WUs:

i7 920, 2.67 GHz stock: ~0.0068/sec x 8 WUs = 0.0544/sec.
C2Q Q9300, 2.5 GHz Stock, At 3.25 GHz: ~0.0079/sec x 4 WUs = 0.0316/sec.
C2D P9600, 2.66 GHz Stock: ~0.0067/sec x 2 WUs = 0.0134/sec.
AMD X2 550, 3.1 GHz Stock, At 3.6 GHz: ~0.0066/sec x 2 WUs = 0.0132/sec.
AMD X2 550, 3.1 GHz Stock, At 3.7 GHz: Gathering data...

Per day, that's ~9,728 credits assuming they all maintained that work flow. My Q9300, in the very least, definitely doesn't, as it's distracted by MilkyWay, SIMAP, etc on a regular basis.

PS: For those of you paying attention, this system was also purposefully built to support two graphics cards @ 8x. As soon as money permits I'm going to get myself a new primary card, and bump my HD4870 into this machine. So, while all of my systems together can do around 10k/day in GenLife, my two video cards will be doing 150k/day by themselves. Twisted Evil

Update: Well it fell on its head again. Since I'm finally going to bed I bumped it down to 3.7 in the hopes that would keep it going without my tampering for awhile hehe.

Pfft, stock coolers are a waste of shipping. I've got a few in my collection still in their original packaging if you'd like them. Razz

In this instance I did something I normally don't: I got a cooler based on it's appearance. Granted, I did tons of shopping to find the best I could with the caveat that it was green or lit up green. Sooo... Zalman 9700 NT.

After all, what kinda "Green Machine" would it be if it didn't have green stuff in it? #ni-1

PS: I'll have pics up eventually. Camera batteries died after the first pic, so I can't even get it off the camera lol.

On the plus side the CPU is happily buzzing away at 100% load and just 36C. Under 100F, with a 650 mhz overclock. Sweet.

Wow, what does that thing sound like, a mini-turbine? Shocked

Fancy hardware like that could explain some of our daily stats:

9/4 69K+
9/5 85K+
9/6 101K+

KWSN achieves 2 Million GenLife points and 9th place!

A bit of hard slogging in the beginning, we're still 450K behind Fujitsu, but at our current pace that's only about 4.5 days away...

And I've a new version of the app coming out within the next day or so...It fixes a few small bugs, but also reduces the number of times the app checkpoints (from 5000 down to 50) so should speed things up a bit for us.
