I'm trying to limit one project (Enigma), on one host (not globally), to a set # of instances (i.e. % of CPUs, or Max # of CPUs).
Anyone know if you can hax0r the app_info to do it?
To be even more specific, I'm trying to stop Enigma from exploiting a scheduling bug in the 6.4.7 version of the BOINC Manager. I keep getting groups of WUs with <24 hour deadlines (compared to their own 10+ DAY standard WU) which panics the manager and everything else comes to a crashing halt. Fine and good, if underhanded, when it was only 3 or 4 at a time. Now I'm getting entire days worth of crunching that's all panic deadlined.
I've resorted to aborting some and suspending the rest, but if I can't figure out a happy medium I'm going to drop Enigma from my biggest shrubber. _________________
