You can take me out of it. I do not have the power to compete, infact I started using my PS3's to part time crunch Yoyo. I enjoyed being #1 in a project for a long time, now it is someones elses turn.
*besides, I will have #1 in yoyo eventually!!!!*

How's the yoyo credit on the PS3? I want something to run during the server outages I've thought about doing the SETI install, but as soon as I see something about installing as root I figure I'll mess it up so I haven't tried it _________________

At some point we'll have more GPU choices for NVIDIA and I know I'll get distracted I'm very happy to see more folks on GPUGrid, too. As a team we've moved up three spots this month and we can move up another three in the next 37 days with just nine of us active on the project

I've see stuff about it here and there online. Here, just found the link:http://www.dotsch.de/boinc/SETI@home%20applications.html. Scroll down about half way. _________________

It's up and running again here I doubt it will do what it did in the last system though

Glad to see you back. It'll be interesting to see how it does. I'm tempted to dig up a box like this for MWGPU, but the only old machine I've got has an AGP slot instead of PCI-E and I'm not sure I want to buy one. Although, Microcenter has basically the same machine for $189. _________________

Its not that great. For each PS3 I am getting a pretty solid 4500-5500 on GPUGRID, on YoYo I am only getting 1300-2000 or so. _________________

Well look0s like I am toast for this race...
My main Gpu Shrubber is down...
It is a 9850 Black Quad core with 2 9800GTX+'s and I think the MoBo has Failed AGAIN..
It was one that I have already Rma'ed to DFI and Boinc.exe was locking up the machine with the new 6.6.20 manager. I was running the Nvidia 185 beta drivers on it so I backed up to the stable 183? driver and uninstalled the 6.6.20 back to 6.6.17 but it sticks on "communicating with Boinc" and it has not communicated for a couple of days.
That is over half my GPU production. I will swap out the board with another DFI board when I get home but I will loose mabey 100K by then.
Never, NEVER will I spend another dime on a DFI product..... _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

I've had a simliar problem, I think it's down to the extra heat being produced that overheated the mobo, which in turn knocked out the network connection..... I've put it in another (cooler) room to se if it get's more reliable......, and so far things seem to be better.... _________________ Oh, it's blessed are the meek!, Well I'm glad they'll get something as they have a hell of a time!

Ok, I got home and it was locked up...
Boinc.exe has been pulling one whole core and at least 155 meg of ram and another 155 virtual memory. It is almost impossible to access the manager as it just sits there at "communicating with Boinc Manager"
sometimes it takes 2 hours to change tabs.
So I uninstalled boinc and the video drivers and re-installed both in different combination's to no avail...
I swaped out the MoBo with another and Same Thing!!!! DAMN!!!!
I uninstalled Boinc and deleted the folder and then deleted every single registry entry with "boinc" in it, then re-installed and It works
I lost at least 4 days shrubbing though
But I am back _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

That happens to me occassionally. Seems to happen mostly when I'm connecting to a remote computer and for whatever reason it'll lock up. To solve it, I'll close BOINC, open it back up so that it connects to localhost then check my connection and everything on the remote computer; that's usually where my problems typically exist.
I don't know if this helps.

Odd,..
I thought I already posted, but its not here??
Sir Brian, use Logmein on the boxes in question... It gives me no trouble.
I use it on about 20 computers, and it is Free. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

I probably should've clarified...it'll happen sometimes when I connect to another computer ("Select computer..." option) in BOINC.
For connecting to a remote computer otherwise, I have a KVM switch hooked up to another keyboard, monitor and mouse that I use to cycle through the linux boxes. Alternatively, I will sometimes either PuTTY or VNC to the boxes as well, depending on my mood.
