The guy that started it all, (at least the guy that gets the credit for starting it all) Remember the movie Contact?

He holds enormous power over the Boinc Project.

Well Dr. Anderson would like to believe he holds power over BOINC, while he might in the past have had that distinction now he really only has power in SETI. Anyway the first team founder was Sir Lizard, he created KWSN many many years ago in SETI Classic. A few years ago BOINC (Dr. Anderson) came up with a system where a team founder could create a BOINC wide team. Meaning any new project would have the same team founder since the team would be created when the project was started. That was the birth of the current SETI team founder, created by Sir Lizard if I am not mistaken. The Knights did not go along with the system wide team founder and instead have many team founders across many projects. Hopefully this explains or does not explain more history.

He is not as active as he used to be, he likes to lay low and let the team function without him getting involved. Also a bunch of other issues I cannot talk about publicy as well.
