I celebrated by passing out at work. Shocked

Turns out it's probably just a virus. I'd been feeling a bit bad and was probably dehydrated. I felt a bit nauseous and tried to get to a restroom ... and woke up on the floor with people hovering over me. I happened to be in a hospital for a work meeting, so they carted me off to the ER to make sure my heart was still beating (it was). Nothing more serious, just a tiny bit of a bloody nose (which evidently cushioned my landing), and a slight twist of the knee which didn't seem too important.

So I got a ride home and slept for a few hours. Finally I got up and fiddled on the computer a while, then went to get myself some Tylenol. One dropped on the floor; I knelt down to pick it up ... and my knee informed me that it was in fact SPRAINED and was most unhappy with the treatment it was receiving. It hurt so much I passed out again ... waking up to a most unhappy Lady Elderberry who was asking me if she should call an ambulance or {gasp} my mother! I gave an intelligent answer of "guh" and sat up to reassure her that I was alright. A bit too fast perhaps because I passed out again ... but managed to stay in a sitting position and tried to make a convincing argument that I had not passed out but was merely resting my eyes, an argument that I lost and my mother was called.

I soon managed to get up and hobble off to bed, accompanied by a great deal of fussing over. Birthday #45 mercifully ended without further incident. Next year maybe I'll just stay 45.

Oh my (insert name of deity here)! Sir Hamster, I don't want to lecture you but why the heck didn't you let Lady Hamster call an ambulance! You've got to look after yourself, now that you're one of us oldies. Embarassed

I'm sorry your birthday turned out to be crap, and hope that it was just a virus or something. Are you feeling any better now?

I'm glad to hear that you landed on your face. You wouldn't want to hurt anything important.

Stay in bed for a few days. It soulds like you need to ease your way into the older ages... #Sleep

Next time just hurl on the person nearest to you.
