I had a dream last night that I was going to have lunch with you in N.Y.
It was within walking distance from here too...except that it must have been through some kind of 'gateway' through time and space. Unfortunately, I forgot that lunch time here is the middle of the night over there, and only remembered that when it went from bright sunlight to night sky. You had a scary mask on. I think it was to scare away the muggers. Didn't get any lunch because nothing was open so I walked back home. _________________ My brain hurts.

Interesting....
That was no mask! Dreaming about me now? This is NY, there is ALWAYS something open.
Now I am hungry. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Yeah, it was a mask. All scary and nasty ninja looking. You took it off when you decided that there were no muggers around. It was you, but it was a bit too tall and too skinny to be you.
What gets me is the fact that I could walk to N.Y. from here in a couple of minutes. Stargate? Or rather Earthgate? Imagine if you could do that! There would be people heading off all over the place, visiting places they probably wouldn't ever have had the opportunity to see. Now that's something the physicists should be working on! _________________ My brain hurts.

Imaging walking to NY? I'd rather not thanks. Who wants to go there?
Is there any way we could keep some of the people from coming back? _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

I read a science fiction story (Azimov I think) with a thing like that. They called it a Door. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

and then there was Larry Niven's "Stepping Disks", allowing you to walk across town one block per step. _________________ You can't leave footprints in the Sands of Time while sitting on your butt and who wants to leave Buttprints in the Sands of Time? |

My understanding of it was that it was a stable wormhole. You program the "Door" with your destination and walk thru to emerge in...Buenos Aires, New York, Rigel-5, etc. You pay based on energy usage.... _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

I like the sound of the Door! Step across to Wales and then off to check out the castles in Scotland. Next stop Europe and the old castles there. Snow too. I would love to see snow.
The Stepping Disks sound like fun too, but the Door is better for 'adventuring'.
