Now down to one Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 that's in a tiny case and overheats if I actually try to use all four cores at the same time. On the other hand, it makes for a very nice home theater PC

Thank you sir! The PS3 is a major contributor. It's crunched half my total in just the last four months or so. Plus, with Linux on it, you can use if as a computer in a pinch. Albeit, not a very fast computer. They need more RAM. |

As mentioned elsewhere, thanks for contributing the RAC from that monster farm of yours to our team. _________________

Yeah, yeah...
AMD has a banner ad out saying their X3 is faster in "real world applications". Faster than what, one of those low power, single core Intel processors? One of those dual-core Atom processors where the whole mobo uses something like 35W?
Since one has been consistently been able to buy a Q6600 or Q6700 for less than $200, and a decent mobo for a lot less than $100, and Phenoms aren't any cheaper than that, my mind has been made up about my next build. This is kind of sad, because I've been an AMD guy since the K100, and there you have it.
With the i7 out, I just don't see AMD catching up real soon, if ever.
Now, what I want to know is why my BS RAC is lower than my Milkyway RAC _________________

They are calculated differently. If you look on the BoincStats site, you can see both values. The BoincStats stats adjust faster than the project (Boinc) stats do. On the up side(?), Boinc will also show a RAC for long after you've quit a project. _________________

Huh. My Milkyway credit is going way up, because I have two dual Xeon file servers working on it, and my Opty also concentrating on it. My sig says my Milkyway RAC is higher than my overall RAC, and both figures are quite a bit lower than what BOINC Statistics for the World! says.
Oh well, I am slowly closing in on someone on our team who passed me long ago, and built up a considerable lead. http://boincstats.com/stats/compare_graph.php?pr=bo&table=users&id%5B%5D=1018363&id%5B%5D=985657
Speaking of which, I have dropped a couple of places overall according to our team site. Perhaps some new folks with big farms, or people added new shrubbers.
No matter, I never mind getting beat by a fellow Knight. It still adds to the total shrubs. _________________

Re: your RAC
If you want a more timely representation of your RAC try Boinc Synergy's Sig Graphs.
You can see the difference between them on my Sig _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

I looked at it, but didn't figure out how to get one. Maybe you have to sign up. I dunno.
I found another one that seemed very customizable (background, font, etc), but didn't actually work.
The all project stats sig seems to be working OK. Note the RAC is close to double my BS RAC ("BS" indeed!). The former also seems to be more in line with "BOINC Statistics for the World!" _________________

Yes, you have to sign up and then you must copy & Paste your project id # in the appropriate area. Then you must log on occasionally ( 30 days or something ) just for a second.
They have quite a few to choose from, Combined, individual projects, different colors etc. They are pretty cool actually.
