In about a day another PrimeGird challengene takes place. It will last for 48 hours on one of their faster projects. The individual WU's take only a few minutes to complete. Yet we are not doing so well in the Challengene Series, like a racing series but on BOINC. We are currently 49th, and we get points by where we place each challengene.

So join us few hardy people, and be sure to set your preferences to this one sub-project for those two days after it starts or else we will not get credit.

I did a nice chunk as well. Got a few days of 3x+1 to crunch before it was closed out as well. _________________ Some days are worse than others. |

I was hoping to find one of those big primes to make the list again.

The PrimeGird Challenge has just started and we are currently 47th, and not doing so well if we want to place in the points.

Ok I am in with at least 8 cores. I dunno about the other comps as it seems to hit the firewall pretty hard and it needs a lot of "OK's" to run at first. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

Thanks for the 8 cores, PrimeGrid is one of the older KWSN projects but kind of ignored like the good looking step sister.
We have already moved up to 35th for this Challenge so far.

I've gotten well over a hundred 'resent lost results' If I understand correctly, this means I'm crunching well over a hundred WUs that I already crunched. If that keeps up I won't be doing much more with this.

Acutally that seems to be a bug in the system. All these WU's have no wingman and you are the onyl one crunching them, or should be the only one unless there is a problem with the server. _________________

A post on their forum said that message means someone else lost them/aborted them or some such and now I have them. So I guess it's ok.
I do however, have over 8000 credits PENDING for primegrid now listed in my account. I hope they take care of those soon. Spent a couple of stretches without work as well. Grrrr. Oh well, almost over. _________________ Some days are worse than others. |

I set it to No new work and Delayed detach in Boincstats and it went and detached all my machines. I don't know how much got lost. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

DOH! I did that once a while back. Won't do it again, now I manually set everything to no new work and just leave it that way until I know it's done. I feel your pain! _________________ Some days are worse than others. |

I took 66th overall. Semi-decent showing overall. KWSN took 26th overall. 7.5 pts towards the challenge total, not awesome, but better than 0.
No word yet on whether anyone found a prime.

For the latest Challenge we are currently 18th about 2K behind the Scottish BOINC team. It is a multi-day one. Goes until the 21st UTC time.
