Ok,

So I had problems on the 64 bit machines (both gentoo linux) running spinhenge, leiden and QMC. Immediate computation error with no output file found error. I found a note on the spinhenge forum saying spinhenge needed libstdc++ so I installed it on both machines (an AMD64x2 and a q6600). The AMD can now run spinhenge and leiden but QMC won't run. The intel machine still can't run any of the three. The only software difference between the two is that the AMD has a minimal fluxbox install. The intel is console only. I run them both through ssh so I can keep them stuffed out of the way. I can't think of what might have been installed by X to get those two to run on the AMD box.

So I was wondering if anyone knew. What libraries are needed for QMC? And what besides libstdc++ might be needed for spinhenge and leiden?

Cheers,

Yankton

Alright, more digging.

Found on QMC examining the failed tasks that it wants libstdc++v5. I have v3 installed. Funny thing though, it works with v3 on my P4 box.

Spinhenge and Leiden both apparently require libglut, I'll install that on the intel box to see if that fixes that problem. This is a graphics library so i'm not sure why it would need it to crunch numbers.

Is anyone else running gentoo who has come across these errors?
