Live from CERN - News from the guy wearing an LHC@home t-shirt
Latest rumours are that there could be colliding beams (at low energy, mind you)
within 24 hours (Steve Myers) or at least within a week (Paul Collier). Wow!!!
The guy with the LHC@home t-shirt will be signing off now from the CERN Control
Room, but I just heard Brian Cox speaking eloquently on BBC radio about the benefits
of fundamental science, and getting everybody more involved in it.
LHC@home is a great way to get involved. The volunteers's PCs have helped the
accelerator physicists do the simulations that in turn made today such a big success, thank you each and every one!
