Well, one of the projects I was shrubbing went down for well weeks. So I added a couple more into the BOINC client. To my surprise, Rosseta got added to the untrusted group (all others while unattended got put in the "low restricted group" and happily shrub away.

So upon waking, the security alerts for "minirosseta has tried to launch, access denied...." got spammed on the screen, with 3,000 denies and an automatic "move to untrusted group" created which well can't be deleted. Whatever user prompt was there at the beginning, well I was sleeping.

If someone else uses Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, and attaches to Rosseta, be forewarned. You might want to manually force BOINC to begin it when you're there, so you can tell the security to let it run (might have worked if I wasn't in bed then), or you'll need to do what I did, and explicitly allow it access even though it gets plomped in the untrusted group. Simply moving groups doesn't work, as it automatically moves it back to untrusted, and doesn't allow deletion of that rule. It's quible is about digital signatures... Anyhow, it can be made to run, but requires some fanagling with security settings, at least if one was afk when it initially started to run.
