I'm guessing the first question is looking for the current 3ds from autodesk and accidentally hit the shift key. I'm more a Maya person myself, but I would say either check the file sharing prog of your choice or see if you can pick up a cheap student copy of the program, assuming you are a student. Journeyed.com has it for $200.
As for the lego mindstorm question, not able to help you on that one I'm afraid.

3Ds max 5.1 I'm better at 5.1 than any others.
