He's shrubbed a little Malaria Control but decided today he's going to do just World Community Grid and SIMAP when they have work. Seeing about 1,000 credits/day right now but he's still shaping things up and Malaria pukes on Vista 64 (the optimizer app) and took down the dual Opteron all day so tomorrow should be better.
Given that we're doing awful in WCG, and still slipping down places, the boost is most welcome. I've also dedicated most of the new computing power I've gotten to WCG as well in an attempt to bolster the team. Unfortunately I'm starting to really imbalance my projects (see below), so I'm going to have to start shuffling the load around a bit.
As for my boss using computers, he's the head of a team maintaining several hundred servers in an organization maintaining several thousand. And yes, I am currently working on a nefarious plan to take them all over. Unfortunately I'm fairly certain pumping them all to 100% usage would dim my career options as much as it did the lights. Ah well, I can dream can't I?
Notice the decided lack of equality these days? Going to have to start balancing the work load a bit.
