Only tuanting against impossible odds is fun. To lose and still taunt is the art _________________ Crabbypatty

I think the ESL taunt is going bad - but I could laarn a few pointers from the masters..

Well you could always sit on 1,000 computers you don't add to your farm, then entice a team just behind us but gaining slowly and steadily to taunt us. Lead them to believe they have the upper hand, while quitely (but not specifically) suggesting "you'll never catch us". It looks obvious they will and they laugh it off...but there's the unstated :rofl Once the bait's out there and they taunt, hook up those 1,000 new and high end PCs, and get them all crunching the project; and they're like "WTF? You been holding out this whole time?" Now that would be bad for them, but also funny all around |

Now who the feck can get hold of 1,000 computers. |
Any senior admins here, who have certain software install powers over their work's net block? Obviously people who can easily get something like this threw, without their employers getting upset that it didn't go through some large software review meeting based on whatever the companies policies are for the network the administer
One could mention college campus admins also; but from experience I can say that many schools are run like a beuracracy which aims to rival that of the government When I took network security, the teacher was also a senior admin from the north campus. He was more often then not ready to rip his hair out; as everyone wanted a word in the truest sense of democracy (think Greek's variant here), on every decision going into every machine. Add to this the 2 man office that insists on running a server "our way" when they don't even need one. Who then calls support for help everytime it blows up but will never take advice on anything.
Needless to say, to get 1 port opened so the university hospital could access their patient records off the NFS server, took 2 years and more meetings then he wanted to recount, with doctors ready to start throwing blunt objects at people while scrambling to try to get needed info for their patients. An admin who can get the go ahead, more efficiently then that, preferably |

oh, 1 extra thing about those tanutwars was the fabulous imagewars!
I remember the abbatoir pictures from S600SEL in the Genome@Home battle, the image of the Spaceship Enterprise captured in DF bij a bunch of Nights.
But of couse, you got your fair share of special images like the Team Ninja smilie
Anyone saved those images? _________________ SAVE THE WHALES. Collect the whole set.
