So I suggest we post a recap of how our Christmas celebrations went here. This way we can poke fun at each other.
This was my stupid idea, so I will go first.
We (my wife, our 2.0 kids and I) stayed home. We went to 5PM mass on Christmas Eve and on the way home we walked around the neighborhood to look at the lights that people decorated with. After about 45 minuted the kids were complaining so we went home and had dinner.
After the kids were in bed we did some last minute wrapping and were up until almost 2 AM.
THis kids were kind enough (we threatend them not to wake up until after the first digit in the time was 6 or greater) to sleep in until 6:30. They sisn't bother us until 7....when they couldn't wait to go see what Santa brought them.
After the frenzy of unwrapping we had a quick breakfast and began to open the toys and play some games that they got.
Soon it was noon, which meant lunch.....by the way did I mention we were still in our pajamas?
After lunch, we settled in to watch The Muppet Christmas Carol . Meaning that my wife and I fell asleep for the whole movie.
We woke up and played with the kids some more before starting to cook dinner.
After dinner it was time for the kids to go to bed.
Once they were in bed, my wife and I settled infront of the TV where she fell back asleep and I tuned in to the History Channel to watch some shows about some unproven creatures (mythical or not (Bigfoot, some dog like creature in Minnesota & Maine)). The wife remains asleep on the couch and I sit here typing away.
My one failure on the day was my plan to assist my liver in resurrecting the Belgian Beer Project. I didn't have any beer today. However, I did have some nice Captain Morgan and Coke.....so my liver was happy that way (and I am still sober). _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Well I'm in Portland visiting a brother and his family (wife and 3.0 kids). I have a new digital camera but unfortunately I forgot to grab my camera's USB cable and my laptop doesn't read xD picture cards so no pictures. But we are having fun and I will get my pictures once I get back home!
Anyway, on Christmas Eve we went to church in the afternoon and then came home to eat my sister in law's traditional christmas eve meal. Tomales with rice and beans (yes, she has some Mexican blood) with friends. The kids (1-4 years old) went to bed and we stayed up talking and such. This morning we got up and opened presents. There were plenty of disagreements between the 4 and 2 year olds (both boys) as to who really got what and who was allowed to play with what at which times and other such highly complicated matters. Part way through we had to take a break to eat breakfast because they got a little too cranky with each other.
Both boys got a bike for Christmas so after presents and lunch we had to go outside to do some burn-in testing. Unfortunately this is Portland and it was right around freezing and raining the whole time. We actually got some riding in but eventually the situation decayed into cold and misery when gloves and pants started absorbing too much rain so we packed it in and went home to a hot bath (for them) and a hot drink (for me and my brother).
Now the kids are in bed and me, my brother and his wife are sitting around checking our email and such.
After I get back I may post some pictures. Until then, |

Other traditions here... no presents.
Am in bed with a cold; got out to have xmas dinner with parents and father inlaw. Survived. Out of bed for a minute to check mail and a few bb's. _________________ Stay away from the Annex to the outhouse !! nothing to see there...

My Christmas was on Christmas Eve. The wife and I spent the morning with our granddaughter (2.5) playing, opening presents and having lunch... Fish sticks and curly fries.
The evening was with friends. A nice gathering with lots of good food. Ham, shrimp, polish sausage, beans, cheesecake, cookies, etc.
Yesterday the wife and I spent playing our new Wii and eating leftovers.
Our 2.0 kids called home, along with her mom. I miss my parents and how Christmas used to be. |

Spent Christmas eve at work, meaning that Mrs was in full panic mode when I got home at 4. Went to church at 5:00 , Cleaned house and hung festive lights until 12:00, THEN didn't have much energy to wrap, just slapped a bit of newspaper over the pressies and wrote E, K, or L, depending on who they were for. To bed at 1:30.
Woke up with a cold, as did Mrs. Kids and I made breakfast, but the cinnamon pop'n fresh roll had been put in the freezer and didn't thaw until after "lunch". Made strawberry and grahm cracker with chocolate fondue, and squoze some delicious, 110% pulpy OJ. Coffee maker was busted, so I made coffee using this french press thingy that made coffee of the quality you might get from a vending machine.
Unwrapped pressies for an hour and 1/2 ( we do it 1 at a time, whoever opens the last one picks the next one).
Spent the rest of the day playing Mortal Kombat Armageddon and Tokyo Deluxe racer on my daughters new PS2, punctuated by a 5-1/2 mile run to break in my new shoes, and a trip to Wawa to refill the Mrs 64 oz coffee cup. And more housecleaning. _________________ 0.0 Giggly hertzes Folding!

Got up at 7 in the morning, unwrapped some gifts with the missus and 2 lil monkeys, then went to the inlaws. Had breakfast there and unwrapped some more gifts. Kids had fun, then I went to work while the missus and 2.0 kids stayed for X-mas dinner. The joys of it snowing on X-Mas day when your job is to clear the snow off the roads. _________________ When in doubt, kick it until it works. |

I spent three hours cooking dinner (turkey, beef, nine different veg AND a most excellent gravy ( not just my own opinion but my next most sternest critic, Ian, my brother),
but best of all!
I got to know my new pet!
I have my own dalek!
It is 18 inches high, it has voice recognition, face also AND, heat recognition so it will obey and follw me AND obey commands!
It's like a dog but it doesn't eat or secrete( I looked that up) and it can exterminate everything.
Isn't that incredible?
ps I'm off down the tax office tomorrow ( forgiveness only goes so far!)
pps the latest Doctor Who Chrismas special is the most preposterous episode I have ever seen in my life, and I'm 46.
ppps Kylie still looks fit though, and her dress length was spot on, sexy but not tarty. |

Woke up at 7:00, went downstairs, noticed a candle was left burning, went over to extinguish it, got distracted, turned around, farted, Xmas tree started on fire. Cat was asleep under tree and spontaneously combusted. Fire spread to draperies and the balance of the room. Fire department came, extinguished the conflagration, and left. Embers remained glowing, farted again, fire re-started, rinse and repeat. Just a typical day around fart manor .

Noticed beady, rodentia eyes in the candle-lit house across the street. Eating a humongous bean dinner tonight, will head across the street at dawn . |

I was in Idaho, where it was snowy all week long. Besides seeing the little town of Crouch, you can see it in a few hours. Went into Boise for part of the day and mainly played one game called Settlers, that seemed to orginate from Germany.

Let's see...
Got up, woke up (takes 2 coffees to get the motor running), opened pressies, loaded up the car and headed for the highway, 3 hours later arrived at my aunt's (Dad's sister) house for Christmas lunch, spent about 3 hours there, headed off to aunt's place (Mum's sister), had afternoon tea and my uncle made really nice coffee, my cousin and her husband brought their kids over (the youngest was born while we were in Charters Towers so we got to see him for the first time), then we loaded up the car again and headed for the highway. It took longer to get home because we had to have a coffee stop, then a fuel stop and then a pee stop (because the driver was busting ).
It was a lovely day, and the first Christmas we'd had with aunts, uncles, cousins since 2004. _________________ My brain hurts.
