There's a fairly new project, The Travelling Salesman Problem, just moved from Alpha to Beta status.

It's an attempt to refine the algorithms used to solve the problem of finding the shortest route to go from point A to point B, visiting a number of points en route.

Until a few days ago it was verrrry flakey, but the WUs appear to be working pretty well now.

There are just 3 of us crunching it at the moment - Sir Al (i.e. me), inevitably KR and a certain, rather elusive, Dr. Vornoff. Between us we've achieved 6th in the World.

A few more shrubbers could make us the dominant force in this one.
