Why I seems like the only one who doesn't get dozens of SHA-1 work on his shrubbers? if I get 3 in one request I'm all happy _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

Don't we ALL?
The way this program downloads is ALL screwed up! My laptop managed to get me committed to over two hundred MORE! That doesn't count what wRok I already turned in! On my other PCs I stop it manually ('No new wRok') after ten or twenty downloads, thank you...
Grrrrr |
That's what I've been doing on my laptop. On of my my Quads the only other projects I had running were Aqua, which is down for maintenance, and GPUGrid. Needless to say, I have a boatload of SHA WU's on that machine and it's the same one I tried to get some Superlink work on. Oh well, I'll keep trying.
The real fun was a couple of weeks ago when I put 6.6.2 on that machine and it wouldn't stop downloading WU's. It was a real mess. _________________

Are you setting your network preferences where you want them? You might want to set you additional work buffer to .25 or maybe down to .1 to keep from building up lots of work all at once. _________________ Some days are worse than others. |

That was a known issue for some users with 6.6.2 regardless of the additional work buffer size. I think I had mine set to one day, walked away from the computer and discovered I had enough WU's just in Aqua to run 62 days. That was a real mess. _________________

I'm having the opposite problem, everyone are getting lots of SHA-1 WU and I barely get some... :S

I set my task buffer to a couple of days and suspended other tasks temporarily. That worked fairly well. One of my machines is running SHA exclusively and it keeps a good amount of work on hand.
Update: I guess I spoke to fast. One of my Quads isn't fetching any new work even though it is down to three SHA WU's. The other machines I have on SHA are keeping busy, though. _________________

I had it set for three days, but I'm beginning to think the project is out of work. None of the machines I have on the project have received new work since sometime yesterday. _________________

Talking about problems, SHA-1 stopped issuing new work since yesterday... Murphy laws are just wonderful, aren't they? _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

Is anyone prepared for the mighty force known as the Knights Who Say Ni!?
I've switched to other projects, too, but still have a few to go on one machine. _________________

Something else to pay attention to, Magnetism is being looked again for inclusion in the vault. If it happens, it would make a good choice also. _________________ Some days are worse than others. |

I just joined the project and ran into some weird stuff. When I signed up as a new user I got a message that there was already a user with that email address. So I signed on as an existing user with the same email address and password I tried as a new user. The join date shows as 18 Feb 2009, there are 0 points credit, so it looks like a brand new account. The problem is that the CPID isn't mine and doesn't exist in most of the databases. How do I fix that? _________________

But it let you login? Maybe it was confused to start, crunch on it and a project you have the correct CPID in at the same time, after a bit it should adopt the oldest CPID for both.

FWIW on my dual core I just suspended everything else but SHA-1 and S@H then increased my buffer from .25 to .50 days and immediately got about a dozen additional WU's. It looks like they have plenty of work now, but I had a heck of a time getting any work late last week when I first signed up with them. Hope this helps.

Yes it did. I'll try your suggestion and see what happens. _________________
