My girlfriend will be "well gutted", ...

1. we went for a bike ride yesterday and her dodgy hand is like a claw (hook) today.
2. her tear duct dried up and went a bit yuk so she's going to wear an eye patch.
3. she owns an African grey.

one day out....what are the chances of that happening!!!

p.s. Yes, quite a catch I know Confused

Fang, I hope your girlfriend gets over her 'piratitis' soon. What's wrong with her hand? Arthritis from an old injury or something? Must be uncomfortable.

Idan, thank you for being so thoughtful but I think I'll let Alpha have your pirate. I'm sticking with this one -

Hi Michelle,

'Tis an old army injury (tendons too short now).

We did joke about (well I did) getting a skull and crossbones bandanna - but then she made me go and sit in the garden with the parrot "peep"'ing at me every 5 seconds.

Ha! Good on her! I wouldn't have been amused either.
#ni-1

I had surgery for tendonitis in my right thumb about 20 years ago, and that still plays up sometimes. Nowhere near as much as what your girlfriend has to deal with by the sound of it. Confused Is there anything that can be done to ease it? Or is it a matter of just being careful and not overusing that hand?
Be nice because it probably gives her hell at times.

Not much can be done (only a slim chance of surgery improving things) so it's case of pain management and not over-doing it; not easy for an art teacher. Cycling 17 miles along the North Kent coast on Sunday didn't help, though we did enjoy the ride and the views. I've been reading up on self-hypnosis to see if that can help.

And I'm always nice to her, she's a trained killer afterall.

The mingers's peeping is really not funny though; he/she/it (we're not sure) also makes train horn noises, wine pouring noises, bodily function noises and many more, all of which are more pleasing on the ear that the peeps.
