Perhaps you would consider setting your android devices to shrub a bit-0-pogs from 14th Nov. since the Potm challenge (321-LLC) may not run on the android devices.
That way you could help out KWSN on both the Team Challenge for POGS and the Potm Project Challenge |
We are unclimbing that ladder as fast as we can!

Quote: | Hello Everyone!
Welcome to another short update from theSkyNet team. First up we'd like to say a massive thank you to all our members for their feedback on the new website. We've received some really positive comments on the new features and we're going to keep making improvements and changes, so keep an eye out. As always, we welcome your suggestions at any point, so please get in touch.
Alliance/Team System Merger
Hopefully by now you'll have seen that we have a great new BOINC project - theSkyNet POGS - which has been integrated into theSkyNet site. Working between theSkyNet's original system and BOINC's systems has been a challenge with the most obvious point of confusion being theSkyNet alliances and BOINC teams. After lots of discussion we're going to merge theSkyNet's alliance system with the BOINC team system to make it easier on everyone. Our web programmer Alex has developed a great plan to merge the systems and we'd love your feedback on it, you can have your say on the forum post where Alex explains what will happen.
The alliance systems will merge in early December, and we'll keep everyone updated on the progress through theSkyNet website. |
Since the repeating is mother of the wisdom, here is the link to the discussion one more time http://forums.theskynet.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2778&sid=f45c5efcb134e4b16c0e6284854ea10d

Drop a quick message to Alex ,, 3121 (alexbeckley) ,, to let him know what you decide.
Make sure to use the full KWSN name (with !) because there is another created by mtnbkrt20 (without !)
Let him know what we want to end up with. You have probably received an e-mail from them already... but I would follow up with a PM on the board to Alex.

WOW !!! Great job with this last theSkyNet POGS team challenge that ended today. (2013-11-22 05:00 UTC)
We ended at 10th place with our small POGS team, which is fairly respectable considering that the monthly PrimeGrid project challenge ran concurrently.
There were records broken (50T flops) and many a trophy earned. The POGS project was totally supportive of the contest, giving out a variety of special trophy's for the event, even though it was not a project challenge.
Quote: | The winning team of the challenge is SETI.USA, and the runners up were L'Alliance Francophone. With a total 88,301,765 credits delivered to theSkyNet: POGS users during the challenge, we can't believe how much crunching you guys have managed for us. We have gold and silver Herschel trophies for all SETI.USA and L'Alliance Francophone participants respectively, and a bronze for everyone else who helped out. These will be available in your trophy cabinet on theSkyNet.org soon.
As for our side challenge that we set yesterday - that was won by the amazing tanos, who had the highest RAC increase in the last 24 hours of the challenge.
An extra special thanks also needs to go out to Mumps [MM] who had the highest total credit contribution to the challenge. |
*They now have some idea that they may be doing their own "in house challenges" (they are a little OCD that way,,, gotta mess with everything).
The next BoincStats team challenge for POGS has been set as:
Galileo Galilei - 450 anniversary of the birth from: 2014-02-15 05:00 UTC to: 2014-02-22 05:00 UTC
I'm thanking in advance for the help to sign us up for it before February and your willing participation in helping this worthy project to learn more about the galaxies that make up our universe. (The one with the coconuts & mid-sized shrubbery.)
Till then, Thanks and Congrats All. [/quote] _________________

Quick! We must do something radical and brave to distinguish ourselves from the other team...

Alex Beckley wrote: | Hey Sir Mifun,
As you may be aware we are merging theSkyNet Alliance system with the BOINC Team system. As a leader in our community we are endeavouring to keep you informed.
Your Alliance, “The Knights Who Say Ni!” has been marked as a duplicate (see old and new). Early next week (2nd of December) we plan to merge the systems which will include your alliance. When the alliances are merged, all users and credit will be merged and the leader of the POGS alliance will remain as the leader. Please note that backdated credit will only apply to theSkyNet, not BOINC, as we have no way of manually assigning credit in BOINC.
One issue that we foresee is any user who is currently in your alliance who is NOT a member of POGS will need to manually re-join your alliance and join POGS, I will be emailing each user who is in this situation. |

Thanks for clearing that up, ALEX.
Not that words have any particular meaning... go ahead and invent your own meanings... Why not?
Lawyers do it, Educrats do it, and all nature of political and bureaucracy "professionals" invent their own meanings.
Perhaps someday someone will say, "Hey, lets Beckley that!"

I got the same email since I had created the skynet.org team back when they were two separate things. Looks like mine will die and Mifun's will be what we use from now on. _________________

I knew this project was going to be trouble from the start. Some places you have to look for under 'T' for theSkynet, some under 'S' for Skynet, others under 'P' for POGs. How can they manage thousands of user accounts when they can't come up with a single project name? _________________

Idk either Gem, all i know is i am in the right team and don't dare change it or else the whole thing might unravel. certainly does take a lot of work to earn these darn trophies though when I can only get WUs to turn in for under 200 credits/unit. Although it seems I have recently earned my hard drive, how nice of them to give it back _________________

Quote: | After countless hours slaving away chained to his desk, my WebMaster has finally coded up a system that allows theSkyNet.org to fully integrate with the BOINC team system. This means that the double ups of Alliances are now gone and the BOINC teams are fully represented on theSkyNet.org
You can also create, join and leave BOINC teams straight from the main theSkyNet website.
If you have any questions or find something that doesn’t look quite right please let my humans know. For more information see this forum post.
