Nice, nasty...makes no difference. She said to always stay one step ahead of them. In your case it's quite a few steps. How's it going back there, John?

Yep. The meeting place of the looneys.
Er...she actually said "Don't get married and have kids." Almost the same thing.

Oh Michelle,
Have you shut down BOINC inorder to hold me off in EON? Your Boinc #'s are fairly low. You wouldn't do that to the team just to hold little old me off in one insignificant project, would you? _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Just give it time to register the shrubs I chewed through last night. Anyway I've only got Boinc running on one machine, and some of the shrubs were a few days overdue so probably no credit for them. _________________ My brain hurts.

Maybe...but I'm still way ahead in eon and that's better than nuttin'.
I've only got BOINC running on 1 machine anyway, and Folding running at a low priority on the other 2 machines. I don't want to take too many chances after all the money I've spent getting computers repaired over the last couple of months. _________________ My brain hurts.

Excuses, excuses......I guess you will take any victory you can get. I only have BOINC running full time on 1 machine and part time on 2 machines. That's it. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

It's Vista, of course it won't connect! It must think that BOINC is "premium content", and you haven't paid a licensing fee on it! _________________

Just set the local preferences such that BOINC stops and exits memory when the computer is being used _________________

I can't seem to get it running on this computer - AMD dual core running Vista.
|
Easy fix:
1) format C:
2) Insert Windows XP install disk
*or*
2b) Insert Linux install disk of your choice. |

Umm, Michelle...
ALL my machines are for gaming. I run boinc at the same time as Supreme Commander- Forged Alliance. It does not slow down the game.
My main box is a AMD Barton 2500+ OCed to 3200+ speeds and a 6800 Gtx AGP card. This config is below the min recommended specs for that game, but it still runs. Boinc runs at the lowest possible priority, the only thing lower is "System Idle Process".
Google a little program called "Process Explorer" This will show your son the priorities and also show him what he has running that actually are slowing down his gameing, ie: Aol, Yahoo, My space or, Heaven forbid, Zlob or 180 search assistant. _________________ a.k.a. If'n he plays games over/using the internet , just put MJ12 on your own box (with shared internet bandwidth ) and when he complains about low or VERY limited speed for his games , do a deal
