Great atmosphere, not a clue as to what was going on. One pitch looks just like another, lots of cheering , beer, more pitching, more cheering, some running, shouting by the coaches. Go home. |
Do you remember the stadium? The beer on tap at Memorial (aka War Memorial) stadium was totally worth the wait in line to piss it out which usually occupied about an inning's or so worth of time ... that was one of the first public places where I learned the wasteland sport of alcoholism ... cigarettes were still vended by machines with no age limitations ...
My mother worked for the Baltimore City Police Department in those years using punch cards for the IBM 360 and phone couplers for inter-precinct communications ... Common Business Oriented Language (aka COBOL) was wrapped in Assembler and nothing was allowed to be coded before both the logic and machine flowcharts had been drawn up ... she'd often let me draw the charts up as I had a knack for it ... debugging meant looking for the typo in the punch cards ...
Those punch cards sure made decorative Christmas wreathes ...

The First Komputer I (Da Grizz) laid hands upon (*) is now in the Science (*) Muse'um in London .(YES THE ACTUAL ONE)
Punch cards anyone ?
(Do not trip , as the saqyin' goes)
Built me first 'Puter with a soldeerin' iron and verbal abuse from parents (!!!!!!!!!)
Me Dad flew gliders in WW2 , me mum did not .
Oldest machine (internal combusation) I ever owened was built in 1907 - snip at £47 (in 1967) . Got a "Proper" engine now ( Go on Guess !! )
