OK, this is new. Today I've been submitting posts, and I never get to the "You have sucessfully posted" page, it just hangs after I click "submit".
The post does appear after I submit it (or you wouldn't be reading this!), but I have to go back to the forum to see it. |

yes i've had the problem to hence the multiple posts occasionaly, and my nicotine driven impatience for the your post has bla bla bla.. Got to main page.. bla bla bla..
another strange thing maybe its just opera, but when i click submit it jumps the page up. I'm wondering if something in the new php or what ever doesn't like opera. Ohh and when it goes to lunch and just sits there, it marks my message as being unread with that little flag thingy. _________________ Smoke-em if you got-em I do.. |

My last post (10:49pm UK time) took around 30 seconds to get back to me (instead of the usual 2 seconds) |

Edit: removed double post.
Previous message took well over a minute and I ended up pressing Submit again |

I was getting double posts without pressing submit again. I press submit, get the hourglass, then nothing happens for a minute or two. Then my browser gives an error message about the website not being reached.
However, I had a 2nd browser open, and there I noticed that my post appeared within seconds after I pressed submit. And this website also responded completely normal in there. And all the time the first browser was just waiting and waiting. So what it was waiting for..
edit: hung again on the post reply page after submitting, only this time it kept waiting (closed it after 6-7 minutes) and no double post. _________________ Save the rainforest! Eat more woodpeckers! |

Those of you who are seeing consistent problems... Does the problem ever happen when previewing or editing a post or just on the original submission? Since none of the admins are seeing the problem on consistent basis it is very difficult to debug. I think I may have seen it once a couple of days ago. Other than that it has been smooth sailing for me. |

Is the server, by any chance, located on an ancient Indian burial ground? This is a known source of many issues... |

Mr. Snrub might be onto something... I actually have no idea where it is located so it could be! Do you know of any Indian burial grounds in Atlanta?
One other thing to look at: Is it happening more/only in particular forums/threads or everywhere?
EDIT: holy crap, that one was actually slow for me! 20ish seconds. *sigh* |

From what I've noticed , it doesn't matter what forum/subject. I've experienced slow posting for new posts as well as edits in all areas. Yesterday and today have seemed to be a little faster than recent history. _________________

However it took almost 20 seconds for this to be submitted and another 2 to refresh the topic.
The edit I did for the above was only a second or 2 for posting and refresh. _________________

I haven't had any trouble previewing or opening an edit, just when I click sumit (either case). I don't think the problem is consistent even for us non-admins. I'll pay more attention to when and where it occurs and let you know what I find.

Ok, today here is when it has happened, never during a new topic post, never during a edit post, only during a post reply to a topic. _________________ Smoke-em if you got-em I do.. |

Also, sending PMs seems to hang every time without fail. Something needs a swift kick in the... errr.. nevermind . The tricky part is figuring out what! |
