Here's a new experience for me. I just switched over to my i7 and noticed from the temps in the sys tray that it wasn't working. Then it crashed. When I get it back up and running I discover that Prime Grid is no longer attached to the Boinc Client. How the He!! does that happen? _________________

Now down to one Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 that's in a tiny case and overheats if I actually try to use all four cores at the same time. On the other hand, it makes for a very nice home theater PC

I had that happen with my newest host when I tried to OC it before the challenge...it froze, and when it rebooted, PG was gone... |
Ahhh! This one's been 15% OCed through the whole challenge with no problems, It must have been due. _________________

I had a little competition down in the low 40's with 4-5 of us rotating spots 40-44. Fortunately, I wound up at 40 despite a rebellious computer, but I could just kick myself for not getting started on time. That probably cost the team about 4000 points. Not quite enough to take 7th, but it would have helped. _________________

I just got home and started the process of getting rid of Prime Grid and Reattaching to PoTM, when I found a couple of my boxes shut off.
My son plugged in a toaster or something and blew a fuse YESTERDAY and noticed that it affected the computers but did NOT FIX THE PROBLEM...
My fault we did not maintain 7th... Sorry
When he gets out of Intensive Care I will have him apologize...... _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

Several of us had our share of mishaps on this one and it was only two days. That challenge in June could be a real party. _________________

Update:
The_Black_Beast is still in critical condition.
However, and I would like to know if you agree with this.
I'm almost 100 percent certain it is a power supply problem.
Here's why, It's in a Antec 900 case. If you're familiar with this case you know that none of the case fans (4) connect to the motherboard for their power. All are connected directly to the PS. Not one of them so much as twitch when I try to power it up.
I did remove 1 stick of ram at a time trying to power up. No go.
I unplugged the graphics card and tried again. No go.
I unplugged both the optical and the hard drive and tried again. No go.
The only lights I get from the system are the power and reset buttons on the motherboard.
I've got a new power supply on the way. It should be here on monday. If it fires up i'll do an RMA on the Corsair TX850 for a replacement and will then have a nice spare on hand when this happens again. If it doesn't fire up I assume it will be the motherboard? I really hate assuming things.
Please let me know your thoughts.
PS I almost stayed in the top 100. I managed 101 with production down about 50%

It sounds like it's the PSU to me, too. Good choice on your case. _________________
