With currently just under 7 hours left (you can probably stop requesting new tasks unless you have a screaming machine) we are holding our own. Start making sure you get the units reported before 18:00 UTC

I have moved back to #1 for the team, but it may not last.
We have 13 individuals with scores
3 in top 100
5 with over 100K prime score
Team sitting in 14th, we could move up a spot or down a couple of spots

It has been a fun and challenging event for me. I lost some momentum when my fastest machine took a 7 hour nap. I also would have gotten a few more units crunched if I had disabled my highest priority project, but since the units there are rare and I am trying for the next badge level that was not an option.

My cores are moving to CPDN for the PotM. I already have several in progress since my slowest machines were not going to be able to finish new units in time.

Thanks for a fun time. Results will get posted when the final numbers are done. I'll try and remember to grab results at finish, then at finalization so I can compare our movements as we will all most likely move spots.

2.5 hrs left, I have only 2 WU's due to finish in time, 2 will miss by about a half hour, the other 16 are not even close.

Good finish for our number of entrants.

2 of mine are going to miss deadline by about 2 and 3.5 hours respectively. I have one that is currently estimated over the wire about 10 minutes but I've seen speedups at the end so it may still make it. It was showing as going over by 25 minutes earlier this morning.

Nice job team and thanks for the help. I know how these challenges can be a challenge since the start times can be at a hard time of the day for you, and or difficulties getting things adjusted correctly. Next challenge will be 14-19 November and be 321 LLR (another tough project for your CPU). Average run time on those currently are 35 hours. So even longer than TRP.

Checked out our stats a little bit today and noticed we lost points. One member had 3 units fail so far. I have not been much of a stat keeper before this year on these, but so far this year we had been a very stable team and seeing us lose credit in the standings felt bad. The team didn't lose any spots, but that one member did lose a couple of spots. Many other team members have moved up (as I predicted).

I guess it will happen. Computers are not perfect and failure of tasks should be expected once in a while.

OK, so the Leonids Challenge has finished, but remember that there are many units still out there that need to be validated and these spots can (and many will) change.

First off our team spot will probably not change unless there is a huge falling out above us.
Code:
13   The Knights Who Say Ni!   1491083.58

We had 14 Knights that reported on this quest. 3 made the top 100.
Code:
53   Pooh Bear 27   319181.74
56   Grebuloner   301423.30
85   KWSN-Gemjunkie[TeaM]   246692.56
128   Yankton   163391.27
206   Sir Stooper   89715.60
224   KWSN Checklist   83083.75
247   KWSN Sir Mifun Fat in a Right Place   73609.02
301   John Mohr   48696.45
343   JumpinJohnny   38086.00
371   Medijate   28406.82
436   LanDroid   23769.70
439   Plomos   23707.45
544   Wabbit98   13982.46
665   zbear   10306.11

Congrats to all the people who participated. Challenge points were around 3300 per unit (some less some more), so if you divide out the total you can see how many units you returned for the challenge.

Next challenge Winter Solstice 18-21 December 17:11UTC PPS Sieve

I have 21 321 WUs waiting for validation (among another 1.4 million shrubs waiting for validation there). Hopefully that'll happen soon and the points will add up.

Challenge points are awarded immediately, just your regular account has to wait for validation. Challenge points will be removed if a WU is invalidated.

Leonids Challenge has finalized. Either I missed some of the people the first time I grabbed stats, or somehow we gained extra people after the stats I grabbed. Some moved up and a couple moved down. All in all I think we did a dang good showing.

Don't think I can help much on the Solstice Challenge... my GPU is AMD/Ati 4870HD. Looks like the PPS Sieve requires a bigger motor and higher octane fuel.... Oh well.

It should work on that card. I believe it's the ATI 2000/3000 and early 4000 cards that will not work.

Give it a quick test beforehand. Just make sure you have the SDK install.

I'm confused. My little 9600GT shrubs it. If it can do it, I don't see how yours can't.Is it giving some sort of error when you try?
Confused

The card I have is 4870HD ... yes , it's double precision and does OpenCL but there isn't a SDK for anything less than 5***HD cards.
So far everything I've read and looked into says my card won't do the PPS Sieve WU's. .... but I made UotD, (which I gather only means I filled out a Profile.) Rolling Eyes

[url=http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows 7 - 64]Catalyst Software Suite[/url] is not enough? AFAIK, you need SDK only if you want to shrub on Intel GPU's.

Per links on the primegrid app page, you need AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing (APP) drivers.

These are available here (and they are available for hd4xxx series)

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

You only need the sdk if your card isn't supported by this driver set.

Snag your driver and give it a shot!
