Looks like we are in position to overtake Canada within the 24 hrs if we carry on munching up PrimeGrid Credits Smile

There is about 250k separating us Yay Razz

They are running at about 191k daily

The next logical target after that would be Picard who are 10 mill ahead and only munching about 183k daily compared to our 914k. Guess that will take us about 15 days.

Picard will be overtaken by AMD Users within the next 3 days. They are munching at about 1.8mill per day

A lot of this is because of the NVidia CUDA and Open CLI (soon no App_Info file needed) PPS Sieve application.

I need to get my new box with the HD 5770 crunching on it. The Open CLI is slower than the CUDA but still kicks butt over the CPU version.

Canada has been passed. AMD Users have slowed production and Picard have not picked up any pace.

Give us another 10 days at this rate and we could be up in 16th position.

Great news, now Open CL is working without an APP_INFO file!

Bad news, my HD 5770 is failing all the units with the generic fail code. It's working fine on Collatz.

Ugh!

/edit

I need to follow my own advice and check the driver. The default driver I had did not have the SDK. I downloaded the new driver and I now am crunching them about 1/3 the time as my GT 220!

So, if I have been running with the app_info, I can get rid of it? Should I just detach and re-attach? Or can I just delete the app_info file?

Gotta love another AMD GPU project! Very Happy

Great. I got some WU's for the 5770 but how do I tell the server not to send CPU WU's? DO NOT WANT.

If I check 'No' to use CPU, I get nothing since these are '0.3cpu+ati'. Do they want me to download a max. cache of WU's then delete the CPU WU's?

Confused

Depends, if you want another project on PG on your CPU, check only that, check yes to CPU and GPU and then check send other projects. This will then send the GPU. If you want no CPU projects, you'll get them randomly with checking just send other projects. So run something small (PPS LLR or Sophie LLR) for the CPU at a low rate and whatever other CPU project you want other places.

May be a moot point, the first GPU WU ended in a computational error.

Make sure your driver is the Application driver. Also the card must be a 48xx or higher.

There's a non-application driver? Confused

I used Catalyst 10.11:
10-11_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_enu.exe

and SDK 2.2:
ati-stream-sdk-v2.2-vista-win7-64.exe

Card is a 5770, errors out at ~34:17

Thanks.

There is a problem with the current WUs that error out due to the time limit being exceeded. The problem has supposedly been fixed, but I am using an app_info to crunch on my ATI, which gets around the problem. #ni-1

I thought Boinc was designed for casual users to install it and forget it, just select projects and it will automatically use the spare computing power? #Mad

AMD Catalyst™ Accelerated Parallel Processing (APP) Technology Edition is the APP driver.
10-11_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe
This is the ONLY think I installed. It includes the SDK and is made for computing applications.

I experience the same generic error on my HD5670 using the same 10.11 driver for Win7 64 bit as all of you...

Is there anyway ATI GPUs can run those WU without using the app_info?

If not, can anyone post the app_info please? I think I saw it somewhere but I forgot where #ni-1

Thank you John, I received the app_info and I'm happy to see it was tweaked to intense our giant loonie magnet along with crunching with ATI GPUs, good job mate! #ni-1

Got it, thanks! Will try it as soon as I get a chance.

Could you send it to me as well, John? And which folder to put it in? Thanks.
