|
|
After sometime of no updates (accept to suggest they'd try to go public by this spring or something), I emailed the Planet Quest project, based on the contact info they provide on their site. This was the reply I got back, though of course it isn't set in stone...

We hope to go to beta test by this fall, after this years observing.
So please stay tuned! Alll the best, xxxx xxxx

Assuming all goes well, I guess we'll be seeing some fellow crunchers interested in ET and other planets over there, once the project hits beta |

If it is this fall then it is still a ways away.

Well, that's the current lattest I had gotten after emailing them directly. I actually emailed, as we're heading into June, and the website still places the beta on a date that passed, with it opening up this spring...
Course, this fall could slip into winter or next year, but hopefully things are closer to manifesting... |

I would love to see PlanetQuest go live.
I was hoping that PQ would come online about the time the original SETI@home closed up shop but no joy.
My target for Einstein is one million credits... errr... shrubberies before I branch out any further at all... _________________

hehe, something tells me that won't take you very long to accumulate; especially if you are (and I'm sure you know about it) using akosf's optimized Einstein app.
Yeah, seemed pretty interesting myself. I'll keep looking (there's also a planet quest e-letter one can sign up for) and if fall comes and goes and nadda, probably email again asking further |

Think positively, they may get it really by the Autumn rather than waiting for some poor sod to bounce off a pavement.

Which optimised Einstein app is this (and is there a Linux version) ?

If you want to try the optimized client, here's a mirror that hosts it:

That might be Windows only, or at least I haven't heard of a Linux variant. Using u41-04 here on my Athlon 64 Venice core... |
