I joined R@H on BOINC, I think I have it set up correctly, it is working but hasn't produced any credits as of yet. Is there any way to check to see if I'm even on this planet?

.............achieving this goal has been the central aim of rosetta@home thus far, and as I said above it is almost a "holy grail" of computational biology. so now, looking at David Kim's results and seeing that for quite a few proteins we are coming close to predicting structure from their amino acid sequences without any other information is pretty breathtaking.

............ so we need more cpu power! it is kind of amazing that solving such a long standing scientific problem depends so crucially on the efforts of volunteers like yourselves! I don't know how much more cpu power it will take, but if you can each recruit ten friends or relations ......

David Baker

Indeed, there seems to be some significant nipplage exploding going on in Rosettaville Shocked . I'm usually horrifically repulsed when informed of Sir Snrubs exploding geriatric nipples, but for now shall withhold judgement on Mr. Baker's udder eruptions Confused .

Note the reference in his comments to the "Holy Grail" Surprised . I think he's secretly reaching out to this team Confused . Clearly he favors KWSN, and is hopeful the "breakthough" will come from one of our bountiful shrubberies Smile .

I told him I wasn't certain I could personally provide the "breakthrough" he desires, but I could be counted on to break wind. Oh yea I told him, I'm your man for that Cool .

So get crunching, let's all give his nipples a tweak, shall we Very Happy ?

Yes he clearly supports us and wants everyone to join KWSN.

Application upgraded to 5.01. New version includes fixes that will allow more aggressive searching, and a mechanism to abort big jobs that get restarted more than 5 times on a client.

I had so many problems with Rosetta that I stopped crunching it. I have been running Ralph in order to help out the cause. Now that Rosetta has been upgraded I'll give it another shot...
