I just rang the computer shop to see how the things are going, and they're waiting on a price on a PSU from Acer. Is a PSU the power supply bit and are they expensive? _________________ My brain hurts.

Yes, a PSU is the power supply. Like most things they can vary widely in price. Some are 20 bucks...others are 200. Whether Acer used a fairly standard unit or something special is going to determine which end of the spectrum your PSU is, but pulling a number out of thin air, I'm gonna say 50 bucks. _________________ KWSN Forum Admin

Thanks for the link, Alpha.
Thanks for the info, jonnyv.
That's a relief because I was worried that the computer would cost more to fix than to buy a new one. Hopefully that's all that was wrong with it. _________________ My brain hurts.
