Nothing serious it seems. The "core" is the piece of software that processes the workunit. Every f@h project (gromacs, tinker, amber) has its own core. You can see what WU is from what project on this page, 3rd column on the right.
Sometimes they make changes in the core or introduce a new project, and your client will automatically download the new core. And that is what happened.
I presume it started processing that WU right after this? (or post more of the log that followed)

Yes, it did processing a new WU, a Tinker, and it is a slow one. Since this one is on the old machine downstairs, I thought something had gone wrong.
