I do have a CD image that will fold using OpenBSD - however it does not like one of the folding cores (65 if memory serves), and being rather tight for available memory disk space (I can only seem to get it boot up with a 23Mb RAM disk) it does tend to barf if called upon to work with more than one core. I've not tried a floppy only folding image but imagine that, paying attention to the previous caveats, that it would work.
I'm currently looking at gNOX http://www.gnox.org as a possible way of getting a CD based folding machine working - looks quite good (and is based upon Slackware) but I may need to play for a few days to get this working.
Sorry, not much help there in getting you folding, but you are welcome to try the cd iso I do have for folding.
Ni!
